Ett podd-avsnitt om scenisk gestaltning av Francesca Caccinis opera "La Liberazione di Ruggiero dall'Isola d'Alcina" (1625)

I Italien, runt år 1600, föddes operakonsten så som vi känner den idag. Vid denna tid verkade stjärnskottet Francesca Caccini - sångerska och kompositör. Redan 1607 skrev hon sin första egna opera La Stiava. Materialet till denna opera har ännu inte återfunnits, men hennes opera La liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola d’Alcina från 1625 räknas idag som världens äldsta bevarade opera av en kvinna. Om den sceniska gestaltningen av "La liberazione" handlar denna podd som spelades in i samband med Den Andra Operan publika workshop "HAVSMONSTER OCH HÄSTBALETTER - Caccini revisited del 3" den 7 maj på Confidencen i Solna. 

I podden finns förutom samtalet mellan regissören och koreografen Clara Svärd och scenografen Bente Rolandsdotter även musikaliska inslag från Confidencen. Medverkade gjorde:

Through production of operas composed by women, DEN ANDRA OPERAN (DAO) changes the gender imbalance in the opera world.

The earliest opera by a woman known to us is from 1625, Ruggiero by Francesca Caccini. Since then, hundreds of operas have been written by women through the centuries, many of them very successful in their day, but thereafter edited out of the musical canon. Today, nearly 100% of operas staged by the opera institutions of the world are written by men. Den Andra Operan’s mission is to bring the hidden gems of opera history to life again. By ensuring that the voices of women composers and librettists are heard we gain new perspectives, new stories and new audiences, which enriches our understanding of women in history and in the present.

Fade Radio is an independent platform that experiments with diverse music approaches expressed through DJ sets, live performances, podcasts, and art-related projects. Aiming to build a community-oriented network, it operates as a core that aspires to support independent artists and creatives.
