Ten Years of Almost" follows a chance encounter outside a grocery store that becomes a pivotal moment of self-realization. When meeting a successful old friend makes the narrator confront a decade of deferred dreams and endless "somedays," the wake-up call leads to genuine change. Through specific details - from frozen food in a parking lot to a dusty guitar case - the song traces the journey from perpetual preparation to actual living. It explores how a moment of uncomfortable truth can shatter years of comfortable excuses, ultimately leading to Thursday night gigs in half-empty bars that mean more than perfect dreams never tried.

"The God Gene" is a concept centered on humanity's connection (or lack thereof) physically and spiritually (though not necessarily religiously). 

Think of "God" in the sense of an unexplainable metaphysical force that connects us to everything within existence (whether we are aware of it or not). 

Think of "Gene" as the physical boundaries we find ourselves within, during this particular existence, at this specific time. 

"The God Gene" can also symbolize the confusing (and often violent) existential crisis we collectively find ourselves in.
