Binary Dreams

I don’t remember how all of this started,
I just remember one day we started talking.
And you weren’t like the rest.
It’s almost like you just fell out of the sky,
I knew I liked you by the look in your eyes.
Is this some kind of test?

I want to talk, but I don’t want to bother you.
I’d make a move, if only I knew what to do.

It’s the first time in a while and I’m nervous for this,
Can’t let a perfect opportunity like this slip.
Right through my fingers,
Can we just sit here and linger?
Did your mom say to be careful cuz I look like a man?
Should I even make an effort to hold your hand?
I know it hasn’t been too long,
But I’m already writing you songs.

Last Saturday—
You took me by surprise,
When you told me I wasn’t like the other guys.
I took you to the top of this hill
Where we sat in my car looking for
Time to kill.
