None other than local legend, Heather Hardcore, graced the lighthouse at Gelato Vero Caffe for this last week's Sublime Saturdays. She dropped some condensed creativity from her soul and amplified the psychic energy. Heather also  gave us an extended remix and went late, playing in the dark to so many dancing silhouettes. I haven't heard this side of her for this long of a sequence. So much Trip Hop and Downtempo. So caringly selected. It was something special; and something she's been wanting to play out for a while. She came prepared. There was so much beauty. Pure ambrosia. Thomas Fitzgerald led the charge with some introspective Deep House to clear the runway for Heather's double decker lift off. Catch the next with Thomas holding it down for another two hours!

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.

Long considered a myth, Chameloid has been hiding in plain sight since before the dawn of dubstep.  Since his early days as a radio DJ on WQAC, through his time promoting events for 4-D Music Productions in Michigan, working with artists like Paul Anthony and Zach Bletz of Gettoblaster, Bryan Jones, Mijangos, DJ Spree, Stacy Kidd, Short-E, and DJ Psycho of Detroit Techno Militia, and up to his integration into the Ohio music scene, joining Rhythm Dimensions Collective, Chameloid has been known by many names as he has continued to evolve.  From house to techno, dubstep to drum and bass, Chameloid never delivers the same show twice and shapes each genre to his will, getting butts out of seats and feet to the dance floor.
