Love Is Pleasin' (2023 demo)

"Fanfare for Freyja" is dedicated to the Norse goddess of love, beauty and fertility, Freyja. The piece represents a unique blend of folk and Baroque styles that are performed on an F sharp western cedar Native American style flute, and a G major Spanish cedar double flute. I spent roughly four years bringing this composition to fruition, and it is my first attempt to record a single composition using both standard and double flutes. I believe I achieved the right balance of these divergent instruments in "Fanfare for Freyja".

Given her last name, Larysa Musick was probably meant to be a singer-songwriter. Her wide-eyed vintage-nostalgia folk songwriting combines effortless finger-picking guitar, lush mezzo-soprano vocals and earnest lyrics, informed by Larysa’s years reciting at poetry slams for scores out of ten, similar to diving competitions.

I developed my uniquely transcendental and psychedelic technique on Native American-style flutes during the 20+ years In have spent living as an ascetic, primarily within the remote wilderness terrain of the mountainous western United States. My music reflects the universal oneness that connects all of humanity by communicating the eternal love woven into the very fabric of our lives.

When she's not treading the boards or posing in front of a camera lens, Elena Tun is an accomplished singer with a background in opera, musical theatre, and jazz. She first met Rob Langley - a jack-of-all-trades guitarist and wannabe lutenist who cut his teeth in the worlds of psychedelia and North African popular music - at Leeds Conservatoire, shortly before he was kicked out for reasons that are much less interesting if he has to explain them. A few years later, their paths reconverged and, later still, they decided they should give playing together a go.

Ziona Riley is a Nashville based singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist originally from Bloomington, Indiana.  Raised primarily on classical and hymnal music, she is a skilled weaver of harmony and dissonance. Meaning and mystery, levity and lethargy, pointed palaver and vivid vignettes can all be found in the interplay between chord voicings, melodies, and lyrics. Riley is currently recording her first full-length album with co-producer and longtime collaborator, Austin Hoke, to be released in 2024. The Nashville Scene listed Riley’s self-released “Not Too Precious” as one of the best local EPs of 2019, calling it “...a short collection of deeply thoughtful, impactful songs about family and contemporary society.”

Elusive songsmith flakebelly defies genre norms, fusing psychedelic indie rock and acoustic folk-jazz. His sound is an intricate blend of folk-inspired acoustic warmth, blues-drenched guitar riffs, and ambient, psychedelic textures. Layered with jazz-infused piano melodies and indie rock nuances, his music forms a rich, genre-blurring tapestry that immerses the listener in an experimental and evocative journey. With In Parks Of Tall Trees recently playing on Tom Robinson's BBC 6 Music Introducing Mixtape, flakebelly's distinctive songwriting is beginning to build ripples from an avalanche of pebbles.

Learning guitar in the early 2000s, his musical journey led to an indie-folk EP in 2022, Behaviours, followed by Lo Fidelity in 2024. That same year, he released Apprentice Green, a genre-hopping album of psychedelia, folk, funk, dream-pop, jazz, and indie, 20 years in the making. Now, his most ambitious project yet, The Boy In The Diving Bell, arrives in August, preceded by the first single, At The Prow Of The Lifeboat, on May 23rd.

Taking a stand against exploitative streaming platforms, The Boy In The Diving Bell and its singles will not be available on Spotify or Apple Music. Instead, all releases will be exclusive to Bandcamp, with CDs and vinyl available through ElasticStage.
