This Is Us Now

   Howdy friends and hopefully everybody is looking forwards to a very Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends this year! We need a little cheering up! This is a song I wrote in 2021 during the pandemic and it's partially about my favorite film of all time "The Wizard Of Oz" with Judy Garland. I've loved this film since I was a kid and now I own like 20 copies of it in all formats and watch it once a year religiously! The song is mostly about finding our inner child and returning to that time when everything seemed to be an adventure and there was magic in the air and music all around! It's like a dream song and as everyone knows there are good things and bad things in dreams, there are friends and there are witches sometimes, as in life, but the journey is always well-worth it for me! 
      This was also one of the first music-videos I ever made with the help of my wonderful wife and it was really too choppy and the clips I used were really blurry and I used way too many gif's and the sound was muddy. At the time we thought it was great but when I rewatched it, I knew I needed to redo it! So earlier this year I decided to do a remix of the song and the video. I added several more clips but couldn't really find any nice clear ones from "The Wizard Of Oz" because it's copyrighted I guess, so I had to use fuzzy ones but you guys get the picture!

     The song is one of my best with some of my best lyrics, I think. It's all about Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland) and her finding her inner child and wanting to go on a journey over the rainbow but when she gets there all she wants to do is go back home! Isn't that what we all want to do? We want to go back home but sadly we cannot. 
     I worked very hard on the song and Charlie really sang it well! My wife helped out on the backing vocals too. I hope the Remix turned out a little better than before. The video was a headache to put together because of all the "Wizard Of Oz" clips I inserted but I hope I did a decent job of it, it looks much better now than the origianl video I had done!
     So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and let's all remember what it was like being a child, all the wonder and excitement that life seemed to offer us back then, for me it was a magical time and watching "The Wizard Of Oz" every Thanksgiving was part of that magic! I'll always remember the classic lines in the film like "Your heart is not judged by how much you love but by how much you are loved by other!" That's they key to life you know, oh and one more very important thing! "There's No Place like home"! (Ain't that the truth!) Happy Holidays!🙏😎✌🏼

Good day everyone, thanks for dropping by my channel during the holidays! October to December are the best time of the season for me! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's really cheeer me up! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday this year, the way the world is looking right now, we need one!! 
      I wrote this song in 2020, a few months after the pandemic hit, it was such a scary time, I thought humanity finally had managed to kill itself off, after years and years of trying to do it! I spent several weeks recording it because it's has an odd time signature, and I added so many instruments and I think I recorded 7 vocal tracks for it too, so it was a work of love for me. Charlie couldn't get it and now he can't come over to record the vocals because of personal issues, hence you've got my awful Ogre-like voice! (Sorry!) 
     I wanted a song to celebrate life and to show all the 4 seasons. I tried to compare the seasons coming and going with loved ones that often times come and go in our lifes. I thought this would be a perfect time to drop this song and video, just before Thanksgiving here in the U.S.

     I worked very hard on the video, it took like over a month, I had to spend hours going through clips and editing and re-editing then mixing and remixing the audio as well. A Labor Of Love for sure! I want to take this time to say "Thank You" to everyone that supports me and my channel, I am truely thankful for that and for your lovely comments that always brings joy to my heart!  You guys are the best! Thank you very much!
     All instruments and vocals on this song are just me, warts and flat notes and all! I hope you guys like it! I will be wrapping up this month with a special cover of The Beatles song of "In My Life".  Charlie, my wife, and I recorded it before the Pandemic. I made the video for it earlier this year. I'm dropping it on my birthday because "In my life I love you more". Anita played the Harpsichord solo and the piano and did an outstanding job too!
