Blendet Series | 002 | - Biocym - Garden Of Unrest [Album Mix | Agos]

Ahuri: The final track of the EP represents the element of ether, symbolized by Ahuri, a mischievous creature with the appearance of a rabbit and a red gem on its forehead. Ethereal sounds and dissonant melodies evoke the subtlety of the element, while ethereal atmospheres guide you through the currents of black and white sorcery. The infinitely large and the infinitely small also play a significant role in this track, with spatial and crystalline soundscapes that recall the immensity of the universe and the insignificance of our existence. The progression of the track reflects the spiritual and mystical dimension of ether, creating an ambiance full of mischief and trickery.

Leviathan: The fourth track dives into the depths of water, represented by the underwater creature Leviathan, the immense serpent that dominates the oceans. Deep and hypnotic leads will plunge you into the heart of a tumultuous sea. Aquatic pads evoke the depth and fluidity of the element. The beast is unleashed, listen to it howl in the distance... The progression of the track reflects the increasing intensity of the wave, like a devastating tsunami.

Bahamut: The third track of the EP explores the element of wind, symbolized by the giant dragon called 'Bahamut', king of the skies and winds. Airy and electric sounds combined with melancholic leads evoke the lightness of this element, as well as its destructive power. The guitar riff brings a touch of brightness through the storm, like a ray of sunshine after the rain. The progression of the track reflects the growing intensity of the storm, reaching its climax in an explosion of sounds. An ethereal vocal, taken from the video game Final Fantasy 10, joins the ensemble, reminding us of its fantastical universe. Dive into the turbulent world of the wind, between whirlwinds and moments of calm.

Titan: The second track explores the Rock element of our earth, symbolized by a huge golem called 'Titan', guardian and defender of this element. Distant jungle sounds and heavy percussion fills recorded with Askata create a primitive and powerful atmosphere, evoking the raw force of nature. The slow but steady progression of the track conveys the solidity and stability of the earth. If you feel an earthquake next to you... The golem is here.

The incorporation of Tamil vocals adds a touch of mysticism and depth to the overall composition. This collaboration with Askata, a member of the group Gnaman Koudji, blends the musical traditions of La Réunion island with the sonic universe of the EP. Let yourself be carried away by this unique fusion of electronic music and ancestral island sounds.

Hei alle sammen, and a warm welcome back to the Blendet Series

After being on an adventures weekend at Soria Festival, in a Valley close to Kristiansand in the south of Norway. We are back in Oslo and continuing our journey whitin the Blendet Series. 

In Episode 006 we celebrate an Album from an Icelandic Producer who is very known for his unique rhythmic and deep dub techno sounds. His Name is Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson alias Yagya.  

At the description of his Album Sleepygirls it says "Right from the rolling bliss of the opener, you're suspended in a womb, like a pillow of sound that is soft, warm and serenely beautiful." His productions could not be better described. 

Aðalsteinn creativity gives us soothing and escapist soundtracks, what trances the listener in utterly mindful experiences. In his productions can be jazzy instrumentals from a saxophone and guitar to counter the repetitiveness of the rhythms and moods. Or soft Japanese vocals, like in Sleepygirls to guide the mind in an dream state where his Drone like Atmospheres let you go deeper and deeper. 

In Stormur, Yagya continue to evolve his sound into the pure techno realm. His unique palette still identifiable, but the focus now on the swirling hypnotism, the delicate tonal progressions, whispering vocals, and the underlying current that transports you, from the whiteness of Island floor to the soaring treetops, the dense whirlpools of mist, and the breathtaking landscapes are now seen from above.

Stormur means translated, "Storm". It focuses on subtle flow and progression between tracks akin to a full DJ set, transporting you from one chapter to the next. The hole Album is produced in 127 BPM and each track taking its cue from the previous. The tonal shifts are only minimal, what creates for the listener a trance-like state. Fallen into his movements best absorbent in one hole listening. Guest vocalist Hatis Noir providing an angelic voice amongst the shifting patterns, swirling synthesizers and driving grooves.

Before we start, we would like to say hello to the dub community in Iceland and give our deepest thanks to Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson for all the sensual moments he lets us enjoy through his music.

Blendet Series | 006 | - Yagya - Stormur [Album Mix | A Strangely Isolated Place]

After a little Summer brake, we are back with one of our favorite Albums from the year 2016. 

With "Irrbloss" Alexander Berg has created an overwhelming journey, for true lovers of Organic hypnotic Techno. His transcendental soundscapes and recurring dreamy melodies throughout out the LP, give the listener a hinch of flying ghost lights organisms. 

If you search for the meaning of "Irrbloss" you will most likely find out, that Ignis Fatuus also know as "Irrbloss" are small mysterious lights on heaths, bogs and marshes.

In the past, it was apparently believed, that they were souls of people who did as much evil as good in life and therefore neither went to heaven nor hell. Another view was that they were people who were tricked into sinking into bogs and then after their death rose up like a wildfire, forever dancing around the place where they died, leading other lost people either to safety or to their deaths.

Scientifically, fireflies are explained as bubbles of swamp gas that spontaneously ignite and burn with a cold flame

It is almost impossible to choose a favorite track of this exceptional Album. Nevertheless the compositions Kassiopeia and Irrbloss have an very unique dreamflavour what we just have heard in somehow similar creativeness of productions from Birds of Paradise or Saphileaum. 
Gripen and Gloson on the other hand are coming with an energy and deep dubby encountering base lines.  

A little tip on the side. Alexander Berg was in his early times as producer a part of the Duo "Genius Of Time".

Surprise, Surprise we start this mix with a little part of an interview of Carlos Castaneda from 1969.  The way Carlos expresses his stories and teachings has reminded us very much on Dorisburg expressions in his work "Irrbloss".

Trigitaliz, also known as The Digital Wizard, is a non-sensical electronic music producer who emerged from the depths of the alternate dimension in 1999.
