Euphoria on the edge of overload.

"Burning Happy" is the sound of intensity spiraling out of control, a rush of energy, too much movement, too much weight, too much fire. The lyrics dance between exhilaration and exhaustion, between pure electricity and the slow realization that the flames might consume everything. It’s a track about transformation, fragmentation, and the dangerous pull of excess.

With pulsing synthwave, electro-rock, and experimental electronica, the song channels a raw, hypnotic energy reminiscent of Depeche Mode, Moderat, and Thom Yorke. The groove is relentless, the beat urgent, like a mind racing at full speed, impossible to stop, impossible to breathe.

For those who know what it feels like to burn too bright, too fast.

Turn it up. Let it consume you.

Burning Happy

The piece "15 momente für wk" (15 moments for wk), written in 2023 in response to the unexpected, much too early and heavy loss of a great friend, Werner Korn, is a collection of 15 brief fragments. It - allegedly - encompasses a wide range of different musical ideas, "eras", and styles, so as to pay reverence to someone who really loved and was able to enjoy a vast area of musical expression. The piece was written for a memorial concert, and it is that, but it is also a sort of spiritual greeting to - well, to whatever you wish to imagine at this point: the "beyond"?, the "afterlife"? or just a hole in the ground?

Either way, it is dedicated to the memory of Werner, who lives on in our thoughts, hearts, souls and our very being, doing what we can to make more interesting music.

This performance took place on May 13th, 2025, at Arnold Schönberg Center Vienna, in a project by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), the Forum Neue Musik. The performer here is Jure Goručan, a silent / gestural moment in the piece was taken out due to irrelevance in the audio format. I hope you enjoy it!

Hunika is a silhouette dancing in the neon shadows, a voice whispering to the rebels. A solo project born from cold rage and burning lucidity, it composes the soundtrack of a world on the edge, oscillating between introspection and subversion.

Its universe, deeply electronic, fuses the dark textures of trip-hop, the hypnosis of downtempo, and the raw impact of electro-rock. One foot in contemplation, the other in protest, Hunika digs beneath the surface, dismantling the illusions of consumer society and the absurdities of politics with surgical precision.

Inspired by literature, art in all its forms, and a reimagined ‘68 mindset, Hunika does not preach—it unveils. Each track is a crack in the façade, an invitation to see differently, to feel differently. It is a sonic journey where aesthetics meet awakening, where mystery embraces rebellion.

Hunika does not create to please. It creates for those who want to listen differently.
