Today, we proudly welcome a new member among our small, yet exquisite circle of artists: FRANCESCA!!!


Grown & raised in the far lands of Bavaria, she has managed to make a name for herself in the national scene with her groovy, yet deep to nasty sound.

Her musical likings could be best described by comparing them to a Chameleon: While she primarily plays Slowtech, she can equally get enthusiastic about picking up the pace with (Psy)Techno & 90s House. However, she always infuses her sets with a playful vibe & a touch of nonchalance.

Besides joining Afterhour Sounds, Francesca is also an active member of both, Munich-based Bushbash collective and Femquency (Berlin).


Francesca's role will focus on advancing Afterhour Sounds' presence on Sportify, as well as supporting MTvE with event planning.

This track is taken from the original motion picture “VAKHIM” by Francesca Pirani, screened on September 6, 2024, at the 81st Venice International Film Festival – Giornate degli Autori (Notti Veneziane). I composed and produced the original soundtrack, basing all the work on the search for sounds capable of representing and evoking the deep memories of the protagonist’s early years in Cambodia, and connecting that world with the Western one into which he was projected after being adopted by the same director at the age of four. The soundtrack moves between thematic lines linked to the emotional realities of the characters and indeterminate sounds, with detailed spatial design created through the Dolby Surround 5.1 system. This piece, combining symphonic orchestra and Cambodian ethnic instruments, represents a sonic synthesis of the entire soundtrack. It was conceived and mixed in Dolby Surround 5.1, where the Western orchestral sounds are positioned in the front and the Southeast Asian instruments behind, creating an immersive spatial dialogue between the two musical worlds. My compositional poetics clearly emerge in the relationship between music and image, where sounds become part of the visual movement itself, treated as “images within the scene.” The most intense moments are interpreted by the beautiful voice of Lavinia Mancusi. The film received numerous awards, including the Special Mention at the 34th African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival, the Signum Audience Award at the 18th Salina DocFest, three recognitions at the Cambodia Town Film Festival (USA), the official selection by the University of Auckland (CINEDANTE), and the Audience Award at the Rome International Documentary Festival – RIDF. It also achieved great public success (sold out at Cinema Farnese, Rome), attended by the director and several renowned figures, including Maestro Marco Bellocchio.

La scrittura musicale si muove tra linee tematiche legate alle realtà emotive dei personaggi e suoni indeterminati, con un accurato lavoro spaziale realizzato in Dolby Surround 5.1. Questo brano, con orchestra sinfonica e strumenti etnici cambogiani, rappresenta una sintesi sonora dell’intera colonna sonora: gli strumenti occidentali sono disposti in primo piano e quelli del Sud-Est Asiatico sullo sfondo, creando un dialogo immersivo tra i due mondi musicali. Nel rapporto musica-immagine emerge la mia poetica compositiva, dove i suoni diventano parte integrante del movimento scenico, trattati anch’essi come immagini nella scena. I momenti più intensi sono interpretati dalla splendida voce di Lavinia Mancusi. Il film ha ricevuto la Menzione Speciale al 34° Festival Cinema Africano, d’Asia e America Latina, il Premio Signum del Pubblico al Salina DocFest, tre riconoscimenti al Cambodia Town Film Festival (USA), la selezione ufficiale alla University of Auckland (CINEDANTE) e il Premio del Pubblico al Rome International Documentary Festival – RIDF. I’m a composer, songwriter, arranger, orchestrator, orchestra & choir conductor, music producer, mentor, writer, and researcher.
My work moves freely across different forms of expression — from Progressive Rock and Modern Symphony to Classical Piano, Songwriting, and Cinematic Music.
Over the years, I’ve shared projects with remarkable artists — including collaborations with Francesco Di Giacomo and Rodolfo Maltese of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso — and composed original scores for film, television, and symphonic productions that have reached international audiences.
As a mentor and educator, I’ve created the ANORA method, together with formative paths and musical laboratories exploring music as a uniquely human language — expressive, relational, and representative of inner experience.
In my poetic vision, sound itself becomes an image — a mental landscape that connects the composer’s inner vision with the listener’s imagination.
Each work blends tradition and innovation through orchestral writing, progressive structures, and storytelling soundscapes.
Every “side” of my music reflects a different perspective — all parts of the same creative vision.

Lorenzo Bocci was born in Cecina in 1975, Tuscany, Italy.
He began his theoretical musical studies and the study of the trumpet at the age of 8 at the Music School in his town (Donoratico).
At the age of 12 he joined the Municipal Band, where he had his first relationships with the band repertoire and with band instrumentation.
After completing his master's studies he graduated in Trumpet at the "Pietro Mascagni" Musical Institute in Livorno.
He has played with various classical and jazz orchestras and ensembles, giving performances both in Italy and abroad (Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Czechoslovakia).
He carried out his military service with the Army Band as a trumpet player and as a collaborator in the music archive.
During this period he was more widely introduced to the knowledge of the musical band, from the historical point of view, of the instrumentation and direction, by Maestro Fulvio Creux with whom he still maintains a relationship of esteem and collaboration.
He directed the “Giuseppe Verdi” Philharmonic of San Vincenzo (LI) from 2001 to 2006, the Società Filarmonica Pisana (PI) from 2006 to 2009, the “Pietro Mascagni” Philharmonic of Cecina (LI) from 2001 to 2014 and from 2000 to 2018 the Peccioli Philharmonic Society (PI).
He is currently director of the Premiata Filarmonica “Giuseppe Verdi” in Calci (PI).
He is an arranger and composer for band, orchestra, chamber music groups and various more or less usual wind ensembles and many of his pieces are published by publishing houses:
HAL LEONARD-DE HASKE PUBLICATIONS, MOLENAAR EDITION, ALLEMANDA and MASTER SYMPHONY.
His arrangements are recorded on CDs by the best European and world bands such as: The Johan Willem Friso Military Band (Holland), The Band of the Belgian Navy (Belgium), The Police Band of Baden Wurttemberg (Germany), Slovenian Police Orchestra (Slovenia ), The Washington Winds (United States), Midwest Winds (United States), by the Brass Band “Soli Brass” (Holland), Banda de Música da Força Aérea (Portugal), Banda Sinfònica da Policia de Seguranca Pùblica (Portugal) and Landespolizeiorchester (Germany).
In 2010 he obtained the “P. Mascagni” of Livorno the II level Academic Diploma in Instrumental Teaching in the competition class A077 (Trumpet).
Since 2011 he has held the trumpet chair at the “L. Andreotti” of Pescia (PT).
Since 2021 he has held the trumpet chair at the “M. L. Niccolini” of Ponsacco (PI).

I “Chivas Quartet” sono una formazione nata dall'incontro di un trio di musicisti consolidato negli ultimi dieci anni, con una talentuosa cantante. E' bastato pochissimo perchè la band riuscisse a trovare il proprio percorso. Affascinati dai ritmi latini, ma anche da quelli più “neri” come il Funk, il Reggae e il Jazz, i Chivas hanno trovato il modo di rielaborare celebri brani in chiave originale ed inaspettata, offrendo così all'ascoltatore il piacere di gustare brani molto familiari e, allo stesso tempo, qualcosa di mai sentito prima. I "Chivas Quartet" hanno già alle spalle numerosi live. La band è formata da Francesca Bongiovanni (Voce), Mariano Di Stefano (Chitarre), Peppe Cammarata (Basso) e Salvatore Lo Verde (Batteria e Percussioni).

ENGLISH:
The "Chivas Quartet" is a band born from the encounter  between a trio of musicians consolidated over the last ten years, and a talented singer. It took very little because the band could find its own path. Fascinated by latin rhythms, but also from the more "blacks" ones as Funk, Reggae and Jazz, the Chivas have found a way to rework famous songs in a original and unexpected key, giving to the listener the pleasure of enjoying very familiar songs and, at the same time, something never heard before. The "Chivas Quartet" have already behind several lives. The band is formed by Francesca Bongiovanni (Voice), Mariano Di Stefano (Guitars), Peppe Cammarata (Bass) and Salvatore Lo Verde (Drums and Percussions).

Trish & Rob MacGregor and Jon Posey welcome you to The Mystical Underground, a place where all kinds of phenomena flourish. Here, voices whisper ancient secrets, signs and symbols are abundant, UFOs, ETs, ghosts, and even the dead  move about freely. Pilots fly into the Bermuda Triangle and live to tell about it, dreams and visions of future events come true, mind to mind communication is the norm.
