Hello… made this mix to try to conceptualize a word I made up to describe my DJ aesthetic 🍓 initially came up with the word « frapcoquette" as a joke but I’ve come to realize it’s a) pretty accurate and 2) hasn’t really been explored before I think ? I love frap music but 90% of the time I listen to songs by women/with female vocals and it’s verrrry underrepresented within this subgenre of hardcore 😿 

So it’s like :  ↘︎ ꜰʀᴀᴘᴄᴏʀᴇ (French rap + hardcore) [cf @southfrapalliance the icons] + 𝕔𝕠𝕢𝕦𝕖𝕥𝕥𝕖 (« hyper-feminine aesthetics that incorporate elements of youth and teenage girlhood », tldr. I love Lana del Rey and putting ribbons in my hair)


➵ so you get 𝓯𝓻𝓪𝓹𝓬𝓸𝓺𝓾𝓮𝓽𝓽𝓮 💐 hardcore/gabber/club/techno remixes of French rap/pop songs with female vocals… it’s like a niche but very welcoming umbrella term 🤚 kind of like the French version of « blokette ». hope this makes sense to y’all, maybe I’ll see you for episode #2… we shall see ^_^
