By May 2000 the Lomé Peace Agreement which was supposed to end the Sierra Leonean civil war was falling apart and civil society groups decided to come together to uphold peace. This is the story of when civil society in Sierra Leone worked together to bring peace to Sierra Leone. Twenty-five years later, we remember the 22 members of the peace rally who were killed.

The soundscape weaves together field recordings, voices, and ambient city textures captured across Accra and Freetown. It moves between intimate conversations, market rhythms, distant church amplifiers, and the quiet moments that punctuate urban life. Centring women's sonic experiences, the piece reflects on how sound carries memory, labour, care, and resistance in everyday city-making. It invites listeners to engage not only with the physical spaces of the cities, but with the emotional and sensory atmospheres that shape them. The composition builds a layered aural narrative that holds both the fragility and endurance of women’s presence within these West African urban landscapes. The soundscape concludes with an original composition by Accra-based DJ and producer TMSKDJ, drawing from these recordings to create a sonic response that extends and reframes the listening experience.

Mical Teja is a Cultural award wining recording artiste, songwriter and music producer from Trinidad and Tobago.       

Mical Teja  has been lighting up the Caribbean Music scene with his releases 'PROUD' which won him the EYESLAM SUPERSTAR TITLE and a SEMI FINAL POSITION in the INTERNATIONAL SOCA MONARCH, 'NIGHT AWAY' and 'MAN 4 THE DAY' released under Major Lazer's Jillionaire label Feel Up Records.


Some of Mical’s achievements are producing and co-writing Olatunji’s “Bodyline” which gained him entry into the Xfactor competition. Mical continues to assert himself as an innovator in the Caribbean Music scene with his release of the “WANT RIDDIM” that features Olatunji, Patrice Roberts and himself.
