In the Frysian (and Dutch) language there are two words that are both translated 'resignation' in English, but have a slightly different meaning: berusting and gelatenheid. I guess we Dutchies are good at accepting fate, or putting it into words. In any case, this is a song about dealing with a situation you cannot overlook or dismiss or even fix, because it takes two to maintain a relationship.
