葬儀業界の「嘘から出た誠」 —— 非科学的な前提が導いた科学的最適解
世の中、間違った理由や理論、先入観、民間療法、しきたりの前提があっても、結果的に正しい行動に繋がったものが多々あります。
例えば、フローレンス・ナイチンゲールの行動で死亡率を下げた話があります。
本来は当時ハンガリーのゼンメルワイス医師によって提唱されたのが、オペ前に、必ず手を洗うことだが、他の医師から反感を買って定着しなかったが、ナイチンゲールが見つけた「不適切な環境」（つまり汚い水）を排除することで現場での死亡率を下げて、感染症による死亡率を減らしました。
日本の葬送文化でも似た話があります。
大昔（50年近くかも）、日本昔話の番組で石鹸作りで失敗が続き、神さまの行いと思い、塩を撒いてお清めしたことで液体が個体に変わって、日本で持ち運べる石鹸ができたのを思い出しました。
これは、結果的に化学反応で塩が水分を吸収して固体化し、神さまのおかげではなかった。
衛生を保つことで、当時知られていなかった細菌から感染症を減らし、妊産婦の死亡率と戦場での死亡率を減らせたわけです。

(Made in 2024) During this time I got commissioned on Newgrounds to make a song similar to a military style funeral, for somone's project. I never really worked in this type of style before, so it was pretty fun trying something new.at the time.

The last march

先日、NHKのクローズアップ現代で大手葬儀社の闇が暴露されてしまいました。
とくにエンバーミングで単価を釣り上げるのと、社員に対する罰金を設けているとか。
これが現在、XやさまざまなSNSで拡散されています。
「大手」ということで「互助会」でしょう。
だが、互助会だけでなく、普通に大なり小なりの葬儀屋さんがやっている場合もあります。いや、「場合」ではなく「やっています」。
やっていないところは、本当に良心的で売り上げに困っているところです。
派遣僧侶の時代も終わりました。
互助会が宗教法人を買い取って、自社の社員を僧侶として派遣し、すべて売り上げは自社のものになる。
お墓はなくてもいいわけです。
そもそも墓じまいのほうが儲かる時代なので。
そんな中でも、きちんとまともにマーケティングを教えていくことをやっている自分が、どんどん馬鹿らしくなってきたかなって。
