Propaganda Machine by Surf Coffee® x Amazin’ Five 084!

Back in September 2007, Freestyle Records released ´Black Feeling´ an album project brought to life by Australian musical supremo Lance Ferguson (The Bamboos, Cookin´ On 3 Burners, Lanu) 

Each track was presented under a pseudonym to give the impression of an album you would find whilst digging in a Caribbean record shop or American thrift store. As a collection of reworked classics, the album set dance floors alight across the world, indeed, the single ´Hippy Skippy Moon Strut´ by The Mighty Show-Stoppers became a huge selling 12 inch, and also notched up well over 350,000 individual viewings on You Tube to date!

Now in 2011, Freestyle Records is pleased as punch to be releasing this teaser 45 single that features 2 cuts from the forthcoming follow up album ´Black Feeling: Volume Two´ (FSRCD/LP090) and what total corkers they are too!

The A side is Lance & Co´s fantastic reworking of the anthemic ´Burning Spear´ under the moniker of The Poly-Tones, an intense and driving piece of soulful funk, and what could possibly equal that for the flip side? The Mighty Show-Stoppers giving Johnnie Pate´s blaxploitation soundtrack classic ´Shaft In Africa´ such a convincing and wonderful re-working, you will think you are back in time, on the film set whilst Richard Roundtree (that's John Shaft to you sucker!) kicks some serious ass!

Result: Glorious Disaster (Success Pending Definition) for Astral Speed Squad

We formed up at Jita IV - Moon 4, full of ambition, ships named A.S.S. something-or-other, and a deep-seated desire to cause trouble.

Pre-flight took a minute. Half the fleet wrestled with Discord verification while the other half questioned our life choices.
Just as things got moving, the FC realized the filaments were still in Jita.
A three jump side quest later, we met in Tunttaras, activated a Noise filament, and launched ourselves into null.

ItchySpirit got lost in the transition (RIP safety settings + lag), but the rest of us made it into 0-F4SN in PanFam space.

We got bubbled and ambushed.
We took the fight, bold, beautiful, possibly blind! Not noticing the Navy Dominix until it was too late.
The rest of us scattered, screamed, and died in various creative ways.

Klein M fought like hell, escaped in a pod, and was ganked on the way home
Yuri Vitch and Stelur Hakuli went down shortly after
Stelur self-destructed rather than be taken
Yoshi Kodamo escaped... maybe? We haven’t heard from them since

Takeaways:
PvP was had
Fire was shared
D-scan was ignored
Discord was confusing
Morale? Unbroken
(Admin is going to streamline these issues)

We didn’t win, but we definitely showed up.
And We’ll do it again too! With less Discord chaos, more combat probes, and maybe one working set of eyes on the FC.

Hey, I’m Lori DeAnn—a songwriter and vocalist from Fort Worth, Texas. I started writing songs during a time of big personal change, when I realized that the poetry I’d been writing for years was really just music waiting to happen. That’s when everything clicked, and I found my voice again—literally and creatively.

I don’t play an instrument, but I do sing, and I’ve always had a strong feel for how music works—how rhythm, layers, and emotion come together to tell a story. I’m inspired by all kinds of sounds: country, blues, 80s rock, pop—basically anything with a great beat and something real to say.

My songs are all about emotion—falling in love, falling apart, finding yourself again, and working through grief. Music has always helped me say the things I couldn’t quite put into words, and I hope my songs do that for someone else too. Whether it’s a stripped-down vocal or a track full of gospel harmonies and grit, I’m all about truth, healing, and connection.
