With the 10 year anniversary of Furthur Progressions Records on approach Hamish has looked back to the very beginning of the label and charted a course through the decade of music in 16 tracks. From the emotive and unique down-tempo sounds of Knok Knok and Denmark, the deep and emotive progressive of Perfect Day, to the anthems of Squarecase, Genesis and Big Hookah, this is the perfect way to launch the series and a signature experience of progressive trance from the renown DJ.

Furthur Progressions Records evolved from parties thrown across the UK, which brought us in to contact with some of the leading labels and artists in the early 2000's. The basis of experience and wealth of talent we were working with, along with the passion of the team to continue to evolve our experience within the most enlightening medium available to humankind, led us to create a platform for the release of innovative, effective, high-quality music. 
 
The name of Furthur Progressions Records is a combination of two influences. 'Furthur' was the name of the psychedelic bus that carried Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters across the United States, often in the company of bands such as The Grateful Dead and flanked by Hells Angels. The bus was an artistic, sonic experiment that pushed boundaries, carrying some of the maddest and most creative people of the 1960's through their adventures. 'Progressions' refers to the form of music that we love - that which progresses, builds and flows on a path of emotion and joy.

Hamish started DJ’ing at 19 while at University. His first events became the calling-card for those in search of good atmosphere, decor and amazing music. Since then he moved to London and continued to work on events, responsible for bringing artists such as Ace Ventura, Freq, Klopfgeister, Kasey Taylor, Flowjob and Liquid Soul to the capital. He also attracted the attention of Shane Gobi and Alchemy Records, becoming a label DJ in 2006.

With the influence on warm, strong, psychedelic and groovy music, ranging from techno to progressive trance, Hamish always goes on a musical path when behind the decks.

His love of progressive led to the forming of Furthur Progressions records and an enduring DJ partnership with Mark Bedouin. Now, with multiple releases and compilations under his belt as an artist and DJ, a calendar filled with gigs, festivals and label releases, all Hamish can think is - busy is great, music is fantastic and the dancefloors are happening!

My name is Jannick Andersen, and I'm a DJ from Denmark, also known under the alias DJ pr0fane and producing under the name Multiphase.

I have been a DJ since 2002, and an Iboga Records label DJ since 2007, but electronic music already caught my interest back in the 80's, and I fell in love with psychedelic trance in 1997. I am a very dedicated and passionate at what I do, and I consider DJ'ing both an art form and a serious technical craft. That is why I try to constantly test my boundaries and always try to explore new sounds, without of course loosing the feel for the nostalgic and emotional - good music never gets out of style.

As a DJ for Iboga Records, my musical repertoire of course includes the latest and freshest progressive psychedelic trance, but I also have a love for more house and techno-influenced sounds: from emotional and trance-influenced melodic progressive to phat, pounding techno as well as deep, hypnotic minimal, techno and tech house. At the right time and setting, I also like to play full on morning and daytime sounds, and I also very much enjoy chillout and downbeat-sets, as I see them as both very challenging and independent of the boundaries of the dancefloor.

I take an honour in never limiting myself to one particular sub-sub-sub-genre of music: to me, a good DJ-set should not only be about playing 20 similar-sounding dancefloor "killers" in a row between two liveacts - it should be a journey: evolving, progressing and influencing the listener and moving through different emotions and soundscapes, dependant on the setting, time and crowd. That is my main motivation to keep on playing - to be a part of those magic moments on the dancefloor where you just go with the music, and let it lead the way.

Over the years I have played at some of the best clubs and venues all over Denmark, plus in countries like England, Turkey and Germany. This for instance includes these festivals:

Apart from DJ'ing, I have also written many articles and reviews for different offline and online-media on the scene, such as Chaishop.com, Trancers Guide To The Galaxy and Progressivetunes.com Magazine.

In 2007 I joined the Danish label Iboga Records as an official label DJ. As you probably know, Iboga Records is one of the leading forces in the progressive psychedelic scene over the last decade, with over 90 releases, including albums by artists like FREq, Ace Ventura, Antix, Liquid Soul, Beat Bizarre, Reefer Decree, Perfect Stranger, Quantize, Phony Orphants and many more.
