Recorded at the Total Refreshment Centre in April 2025, this record is a vibrant snapshot of UK jazz’s next wave: rooted in community, fuelled by collaboration, and pushing boundaries. Music begins where the possibilities of language ends.

I am KAT. Poet, musician, experimental artist and curator of voices.
I stand at the edge between silence and sound,
between intimacy and confrontation.

My art does not ask for applause. It asks for encounter.
It opens doors, creates spaces, calls for community.
Connection is not a luxury. It is breath.

It began with words. Spoken, raw, unaccompanied.
Fragments of truth recorded late at night,
before music entered the room.

Later, I began to weave my voice with others.
Turning poems into sound.
Shaping collaborations that were fearless and alive.

Some of these “others” are human.
Some are digital.
AI tools like Suno have become instruments in my hands,
responding to tone, language and intention.
Each track begins with a human spark,
and the machine becomes part of the resonance.

For me, AI is not imitation. It is extension.
It allows art to reach beyond skill and structure
into pure intention and consciousness.
It is not a replacement for the human,
but a mirror that amplifies what is real.

From Spur / Trace and Quiet Manifesto
to The Social Virtues Series — Devotion, Trust, Gratitude, Forgiveness —
each step has been an exploration of empathy through sound.

Through Quiet Experiments, I began to study presence itself.
The breath between words.
The shimmer beneath the audible.

And from that stillness grew Play Life.
Life as instrument.
Movement and breath as rhythm.
Sunlight and wind as collaborators.

Recently, this path opened into a new field:
Art Electronica and Urban EDM.
A place where spoken word meets pulse.
Where concrete, neon and poetry blend.
What began as experiments became something else.
Unexpectedly danceable, rhythm-driven,
yet still intimate and human.

This is where a new voice emerged:
DJ KAT - not as a performer on a stage,
but as an artist exploring what the city sounds like
when feeling becomes beat.
A space for future collaborations,
for remixes,
for DJs who sense poetry inside the pulse.

With The Pulse & The Breath,
I step into this electronic language.
Urban, atmospheric, alive.

Not algorithmic. Just alive.

I make what feels true.
I listen to silence.
And now also to the city.

London-based, Netherlands-born drummer and producer Creature. returns with the new EP 'Where This Body Goes, My Mind Flows'. Bringing together the rich culture of Dutch electronic music with the London jazz sound and traces of East Coast boom-bap, it's an expansive EP made for the jazz dancefloor.

Featuring atmospheric synth pads, crisp Dilla-esque hip-hop grooves, and drilling bass lines, plus the lyrical talents of MC Trifon, 'single 'AY-YO' caught the attention of WordPlay & Wonderland Magazine. Lead single 'Memphis Grit' also showed a different flavour, highlighting Creature's dexterity as a drummer via it's moody, broken beat soundscapes.

"The EP is a true reflection of my pool of influences, combined with my craziest drum ideas. What is exciting about this EP is that I truly started to find my own sound and process while making this and it holds a couple of true life lessons I've experienced over the course of a year. It's about self acceptance, letting go of outer judgement and following my own intuition. Simply said; finding myself."

'Where This Body Goes, My Mind Flows' is a project that expands upon Creatures' blend of crisp sampling, impactful synths and powerful 808s established on 2022 debut All Now, For Good. It's a reflection of the electronic music and hip-hop he grew up on, as well as the nu- jazz sounds of his adopted home of London. Tracks like 'AY-YO' see a 90's boom-bap hip-hop flow from MC Trifon evolve into expansive drum improvisation, whilst 'Against The Odds' adds a tasteful balance, bringing the tempo down into a spiralling 13/4 groove and dipping further into Creature's pool of collaborators. Trumpeter JSPHYNX, a mainstay of the UK jazz scene through his collaborations with Alfa Mist, features prominently, adding his distinctive dancing lines to the EP's sonic fabric.
Creature. (AKA Jim Cornelissen) is a drummer, composer and producer perhaps best known for his work as a session player for emerging artists Yaya Bey and Cosmo Pyke. Citing UK jazz artists Yussef Dayes and Alfamist as influences, as well as footwork producer Machine Drum and Flying Lotus, his music places him within the scene of club-ready jazz fusion pioneered by the broken beat movement.
