"This song has seen the most development out of all my songs. At it's core, it's the second or third song I started writing (around 2005), and the only song from that period that I still have in my repertoire. Most surprisingly, I thought this song was two separate songs for nearly a decade until, by chance, I happened to play the "two songs" on top of each other. 

Initially this song was simply two countermelodies playing against each other on guitar, the style of which was heavily influenced by the Franz Ferdinand song "Tell Her Tonight." This version of the song never had lyrics that I considered satisfactory, and remained for some time instrumental. I called this version of the song "Rhapsody in Rouge," for no other reason than that I was a fan of both Queen and George Gershwin and fancied the name "Silas Rouge" as a stage name at the time. It should be clear to any serious student in the musical field that this song is in no way a "rhapsody." 

Once I started writing more complete songs, this version saw far less attention. The only serious consideration I gave it was as an instrumental intro theme to a never-realized cartoon I envisioned called "Furry Frenzy." Around this same time, I even appended an intro to this intro that I called "Ritalin" because the whole thing had a real ADHD feel to it. 

A few years prior, I unknowingly started writing the other half of this song. That part was more influenced by Oasis' then-recently released "Dig Out Your Soul" album, particularly the opening track "Bag it up" which is still my favorite song on the record. Taking a cue from the song "I'm Outta Time," also on that album, I initially started writing this song about Cynthia and Julian Lennon, (called "Look out Cynthia") but found that I was unhappy with the lyrics and scrapped everything except the line "happening now," which became the title of the song for many years after. Turning once again to Oasis' fairwell album, I found further inspiration in the song "Waiting for the Rapture."

My own take on the Christian concept of "The Rapture," further influenced my songwriting. At the time the song was written, I'd survived Y2K and 9/11 and was "anticipating" the end of the world that was surely coming in 2012. The US was in a recession, and certain people in Utah decided that recently elected Obama, as the anti-christ, was responsible for it.

I'd grown tired of people around me finding signs of the end and declaring that "time would prove me wrong" when I chose to challenge them. My reaction was the same then as it is now: who cares? What does it matter? Being a good person only to avoid punishment and suffering at the end of the world isn't something that a truly good person would do. It was this existential attitude that served as a catalyst for the lyrics of the song, and once written, I found it to be one of my most powerful lyrical statements. 

Musically and technically, this song was the first of several songs to break tradition with my previous songwriting methods. It was my first completed song to be written in a major key, to be performed entirely in barre chords rather than open chords, and to have my signature fretboard-sliding fingering-style that eventually made it's way into most of my songs, even those written before this one. Something's Going On

We create fresh and modern music in variety of genres for different media projects.

I might be a guy from Munich, Bavaria, but I'm a huge fan of irish music and celtic music in general and also of Ireland and also Scotland as countries. It's the culture and the vibe in general which made me falling in love a bit with those places.

I mostly write my lyrics myself, always completely randomly, and produce the songs with the help of AI. That's just because I can't really sing and AI is therefore a good tool for realizing ideas. Technology is not my intention, it's the music.

Besides, I don't do this for money or anything like that; it's purely a hobby. It's important to me that people listen to the songs honestly if they like them.
