Mantis Radio 44 - Phonocake

I think the best ever single grime tape pack / mix release was @rinsefm's amazing Rinsessions Vol. 1, which was released in 2005. A true landmark release, it featured six mixes from some of the scene's leading names, such as Roll Deep, Ruff Sqwad, Slimzee, Plasticman (now known as Plastician), and Logan Sama (plus a UK Garage mix from Jiggy B). For my March mix for @begrime I decided to pay homage to this landmark set by pulling together an all vinyl mix featuring tracks that appeared on Rinsessions. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and hope you enjoy it too!

This is a mix I did for @begrime back in September - a little selection of some heavyweight older dubstep tunes; to put this together I literally took out a half shelf of dubstep records and improvised the set in one take. Some great tunes on here ... enjoy!

Influences include all garage crews from the 90s onwards and grime crews and dubstep crews from 2001 onwards sidewinder tape packs and pirate radio.
