As we enter the year of the snake — symbolizing darkness and the pursuit of happiness — this mix serves up both on a silver platter. 1. What was your inspiration for the mix?

Inspiration, hmm… I haven’t recorded a mix in a long time, so I wanted to put together some interesting music I’ve known for a while but didn’t have the chance to play much. With my mix recordings, I always try to maintain a certain structure—something that builds up gradually to a peak, and an outro that feels like it completes the journey. To me, it’s important that the mix feels like a whole experience, something to be listened to from beginning to end.

I’ve always been drawn to the more 'electronic' side of electronic music, so this mix reflects that through different styles. A huge thanks to my friends at Unmute Club in Hanoi for letting me record this mix in their club room one afternoon!

Anyways no fancy mixing, no super rare 'not on youtube' track id bro kind of tracks, just some music i enjoy and i hope that people who listen to it will as well :)


2. How do you think your local music scene has shaped your sound as an artist / approach to nightlife?

I’ve been involved in two scenes since I started this thing we call DJing—originally coming from Serbia and being part of the scene there for a few years, and for the past five years, in Hanoi, Vietnam. That said, I’ll focus more on the Vietnamese scene.

Probably what everyone else would say, it’s changed quite a bit since the COVID days. There are more clubs and places to listen to electronic music now compared to just a few years ago. With that growth, there are more DJs, and the best part is the sense of community—everyone supports each other, which feels genuinely healthy.

To answer the question of how it’s shaped my sound, I’d say the people who make up the scene have inspired me to put more energy into finding music and building my own style, so I can give back to my community through DJing as much as possible.
