Hjördis & Hallvardsson explore lyrics that once carried weight in very different times — some written just decades ago, others reaching back five or six hundred years. Many of these texts come from folk songs and ballads of the Nordic countries, especially Norway and Sweden.

Through chords, melodies, and the full range of modern digital tools at our disposal (such as Locic Pro, artificial intelligence, modern synthesizers etc), we reshape these words into new musical forms. The aim isn’t to hide their age, but to let them breathe again — showing how themes that mattered centuries ago still resonate in today’s music.

This project is about bridging eras: giving timeless texts a voice in the modern soundscape, while honoring the legacy they carry.
