Fragment 6

For «Fragment 7», we started with a bass sound we found in our recordings, which reminded us of Rhythm & Sound tracks from the mid/late ’90s. Then some ghostly voices, captured through glasses, joined the arrangement. But since they were so quiet, we had to amplify them significantly, which brought up all the background noise, creating a beautiful background texture for the whole track. Another reference is an effect used in ’70s dub, where tape speed was manipulated, for example in Extraordinary Version by Impact All Stars.

Erstellt 2006 als Installation zur Ausstellung Glasplastik & Garten in Munster. Die Installation lief zumeist in den Abendstunden am Ollershof.

For this track we worked with short, ever changing repetitions. Loop fragments change constantly and rapidly, appearing both repetitive and chaotic at the same time.
