Smack Champion is an up and coming independent rock group currently based in Los Angeles. Founded by long-time collaborators Ray Williams and Weston Wilson, the band originally formed in 2019 as a backing band for Williams' solo project at the time. During 2020, they decided to combine efforts and co-write some new material, solidifying Smack Champion as a unit. They have spent 2024 rolling out their debut album track by track, offering a distinctive blend of rock, folk, and country influences. Their sound is both fresh and nostalgic, a throwback to the alternative and indie rock that they grew up with as well as a more classic 60's/70's vibe.

Glen Campbell recorded this song, often touted as the best country ballad of all time in 1968 when I was a high school freshman. Little did I know that 20 years later Glen would become my publisher and that I would get to record with an All Star background choir in Nashville in 1990.  Now and then inspiration and magic strikes like lightening. This is my tribute to Glen, who among several other Nashville legends mentored me and influenced everything I have done since as a songwriter, producer, artist, and recording professional.  "country"song  ,but being it more "worldmusic" we tryed it with a dash of Salsa...

Country music star Glen Campbell was preparing to play at the Western Idaho Fairgrounds in Boise, Idaho when I came to his tour bus with my wife, Debbie, and asked if I could interview him. Debbie and I were invited onto the bus and sat at a small table as Glen Campbell was putting on a shirt, walking from the back of the tour bus. We sat down for a very brief interview. Debbie and I were a young married couple, in our 20s, and he had his eye on her during the interview. At the end of the interview, as we stood and I shook his hand, he forgot my name but remembered Debbie's name. He also signed autographs for us. In the interview, he did say my name once. This is also a highlight of my radio career.
