Grateful to share my live-recorded dance journey here (including live looping with vocals, yidaki/didjeridoo, flute and percussion) with the Ecstatic Dance Melbourne community. As this was the first dance of the New Year, the theme of 'rebirth' came through as I started preparing this journey, reflecting on what is happening in my life currently as well as the opportunity to be reborn into a New Year cycle. May we let old patterns that are no longer serving die, as we call in and embody more of our unlimited potential for 2025 and beyond – and may this dance journey serve in your elevation.

Na Albertovy narozeniny většinou trochu experimentujeme - minulej rok jako Jádro pudla, letos pouze za sebe, a tak to občas sklouzne trochu do dnb 😊 Nová, místy nahodilá selekce tracků nakonec po zlobivé a jemně šílené gradaci skončí u zaručených klasik, které potěšily každou tančící osobu v místnosti :)

Connected with music since childhood, when, being 4 years old, he organized his own cassettes collections, ranging from oldschool berlin electronic music, ambient and psychedelic rock to classical music. Allthough he studied piano and sound engineering, his approach to music was for a long time mostly receptive and collecting. He discovered psytrance and it's branches in year 2002 and after occasional visit of smaller parties, he was carried away by OZORA 2010 festival, where he heartily engorged psychedelic culture and it's atmospheres. Then in 2013 he co-founded production/deco crew WizArts, in 2014 and in 2017 became part of Fenix Festival production team.

Elkemist is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, hybrid live DJ who plays multi-genre sets rooted in mystical sounds and ethnic flavours. With a deep love of tribal bass blended with rising slowtempo energy, his sets are curated to take audiences on a sacred journey of sonic alchemy spanning 60-100bpm and beyond, supported by live looping with didjeridoo, vocals and percussion.

Elkemist also facilitates a weekly ecstatic dance in Nelson, BC (Canada) called Dance Wave, as well as co-hosting regular community ceremonial gatherings, and runs a bi-weekly men’s circle. Beyond building community and co-creating safe spaces for authentic expression, Elkemist has also contributed sets to festivals around Canada and Australia including Shambhala (CAN), Wicked Woods (CAN), Dragon Dreaming (AUS), Chrysalis (CAN), Elevate (CAN), Tribe Ascension (AUS), The Magic Garden (AUS) and Kootenay Yoga Festival (CAN).

Whether it’s a rising tribal bass journey, sacred gathering, ecstatic dance or sunrise festival set, expect a voyage across space and time, inspired by sounds from around the world to encourage dancers to move beyond the perceived limits of their bodies and minds.
