Just kidding - of course there was going to be a chiptune track in the game. This is the only pure chiptune in the game, though I did include elements of it in other songs. The tutorial area of the game takes place inside of a computer simulation, which lent itself nicely to this compositional style. I wrote it largely using tritones, augmented 5ths, and the whole tone scale to make it sound deliciously dissonant.

Gravity Storm OST - Tutorial Stage

The first zone theme! This was directly inspired by Doom, and I wrote this track with the intention that it serves as the titular character's unofficial theme song. 

This song is written entirely in phrygian, but it plays around with the scale and switches keys mid-way as the character continues to leave a path of destruction behind them. The ending is written in 15/8, providing a last bit of insanity before it begins again.
