I Hate Breakbeat (feat. Rxoverdos)

Hey all! A few months ago I received a message here on SoundCloud from user New EvoluTion asking about this track. It was originally released in 2010 I believe on BMV's label Grimey Grooves. I did a google search and didn't see it available anywhere except Shazam, so I decided to give it a quick re-master & have provided it here as a free download. 

This project is labeled as project #100 in my old Cubase files (I got up to around 151 before going on my 7-year production hiatus). It makes me wonder how many other old songs I have in the archives that are no longer available online. Maybe I'll take this as a sign to dig through them & release other old projects here! We'll see if I can make the time to do that. :)

Strap yourself in and oxygenate your blood, because “FNDNB” isn’t just a track—it’s a subterranean war chant engineered in a smoke-choked lab beneath a forgotten Soviet bunker. MONAKAI didn’t produce this track—he summoned it from a cursed hard drive powered by broken circuit boards and the last known scream of a rave goblin. Every bar is compressed with the force of collapsing neutron stars, and each sub-bass hit could realign the tectonic plates beneath Berghain.

The intro opens with the subtle hum of what sounds like a haunted MRI scanner before launching you into a distorted wormhole laced with glitch artifacts, vinyl hiss, and a snare that could slice open the fabric of reality. High hats tick like doomsday clocks. The drop? Think rusty mechanical spiders doing acrobatics in zero gravity while strobe lights glitch to the rhythm of your accelerated heartbeat. And the reverb tail on the second breakdown? Scientists are still analyzing it for signs of intelligent alien life.

The cover art alone has been banned in three countries for violating spiritual calm. That monkey logo? It's not a logo—it’s a sigil. An invocation. A middle finger sprayed in grayscale on the wall of sonic conformity.

There are whispers that those who’ve listened on a decent sound system are now fluent in multiple time signatures and have been unable to blink since.

Or it's just some F’n drum and bass. You decide.

About DJ Monakai
Monakai is a Drum and Bass DJ and producer known for his deep, immersive soundscapes. With over two decades in the industry, Monakai has performed at some of the largest electronic music festivals and has held multiple club residencies in both San Francisco and the surrounding East Bay. His innovative approach to music and production continues to inspire and his music and production work continues to captivate audiences near and far.

DJ Denise is a veteran staple of the San Francisco electronic music community, having firmly planted her roots in 1998 under the guise DJ D. Her meteoric rise led her to performing across the country from Miami to Hawaii and everywhere in between. She is most known for her precise & effortless beatmatching skills combined with nonchalant fader flicks and mixer tricks.

Denise has performed at almost every venue in the San Francisco Bay Area and also many festivals. In 2013, Denise won the Discovery Project and performed at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. 

Between 2006-2013, Denise launched her music production career while concurrently running her record label, Mizumo Music. The label released over 180 EPs from local & international artists while her original songs & remixes were released on labels based out of Europe, Australia, North & South America and South Africa. Her music has been licensed to various compilations including UK powerhouse Ministry of Sound, LovEvolution (San Francisco's homage to the infamous Love Parade), as well as on DJ mix compilations by Simply Jeff and DJ Shortee. Most recently you can find Denise’s music on InStereo Recordings, DJ Dan’s record label.

When she's not DJing or tinkering in the studio, you can find Denise working as an ER Nurse in Oakland, California. It is evident that her mission in life is to save lives, both on and off the dance floor.
