Nail Norns

This is the Seventh track of my latest instrumental guitar album Kuuki Wo Yomu. This Japanese phrase means "reading the air" which I equate to picking up a vibe.

This track features Logan Bedard on drums and Dave Rhen on flutes. I played electric bass and all other instruments using my guitar synthesizer.

Hello listeners. This is a new version of one of my songs. I am layering guitar synthesizer, blended with my rock guitar tones. A two amp blend (a "wet/dry" rig) of guitar sounds with guitar hook, triad rhythms, single note melody line improv and octave runs. An uptempo backing of drums, bass and rhythm guitars. An improvisation on a Boss SY-1000 guitar synthesizer took on a life of its own, to which I added modeled percussion, ambient synth textures, octave mandolin, and fretless bass, resulting in this rather meandering piece. It can be for any season, but to some it evokes the melting of snow as winter elides into spring. im

DAMN. This took a while to produce, probably the first track that I've properly mixed lmao. Quite inspired by CDMusic and Keygen Church's style; I think you'll understand why ;)

Been playing with electronica & guitar synthesizer forever...  Sometimes spacey, sometimes hard, sometimes jazzy, sometimes algorithmic & scientific...

I've played guitar and bass most of my life, in a wide variety of styles and genres, typically as a session producer and/or musician. During the 80's I worked in Philadelphia as a session musician on albums by Teddy Pendergrass, Patti Labelle, Lou Rawls, Pieces of a Dream, The O'Jays, and the Jones Girls. I've recorded and produced hundreds of projects ranging from demos to a top ten charting song co written with Cynthia Biggs and Dexter Wansel.  I tend to favor harmonically complex music that's underpinned by great grooves, and I often hear the comment that my music is reminscent of Steely Dan.   For the past 20 years, I've focused on helping startup high tech companies and on writing, producing and recording music at Varuna Studio, my 24 track automated home studio.
