Here’s a new track inspired by the game 7 Days to Die that has just been released. I’ve played this game a lot, and it left me with many pleasant impressions. It’s also a classic survival experience without gimmicks that drastically change the perception of the project. That’s why I decided to create this track in honor of the game.

An improvisation on a Boss SY-1000 guitar synthesizer took on a life of its own, to which I added modeled percussion, ambient synth textures, octave mandolin, and fretless bass, resulting in this rather meandering piece. It can be for any season, but to some it evokes the melting of snow as winter elides into spring. im

This is the song that started it all. The mission statement. "The Magnetic Brain" is my title track, an experimental funk jam that inspired the name of the band itself.

Recorded live in Portugal in 2023, this performance is a tribute to the genius of Hermeto Pascoal and a showcase of our core concept: using a MIDI guitar to perform a universe of sounds—Rhodes, bass, synths, trombone—without a single traditional guitar tone.

The Magnetic Brain (Live At Paranoid Beers and Records)

Pippo Corvino is a wanderer in music, as he is in life. Born in the former Yugoslavia, he studied classical guitar until, having outgrown the limitations imposed on him by his teachers, he found his way to Graz and studied jazz at the University for Music and Performing Arts. He has lived in Vienna since 2016. 

Corvino’s music is built largely on jazz, rock, and classical music but also embraces influences as diverse as 80s fusion, 90s pop, folk, and country. Over time, he has integrated these elements into a timeless, border-transcending music entirely his own—notably on solo albums like 2018’s "Another World". He is also an avid collaborator: his work with bassist Morten Ramsbøl led to the intimate 2016 trio album "How Far Is The Moon", with pianist Anıl Bilgen; his ongoing partnership with singer Ángela Tröndle has resulted in the albums "Getting Out of the Envelopes" (2017) and "Distilled" (2021). 

His talents as an arranger are showcased on the album "Forgotten Tales" (2021), with percussionist Balázs Balogh and cellist/vocalist Judit Bonyár, and in his duo with the Bosnian/Viennese singer Nataša Mirković, which both feature his reworkings of Eastern European folk music. He is also an accomplished producer and recording engineer; nearly all of the above-mentioned albums—and his latest release, the solo album "In Traverse"—were created in his studio, “The BURROW”.

This is the home of a unique musical experiment: a one-man-band from Germany creating the sound of a full ensemble. Here, the electric guitar is transformed, becoming a saxophone, a piano, a Hammond B3 organ, or a vintage synthesizer right before your eyes.

Through a blend of live looping, intricate sound design, and raw improvisation, my music is a journey into the depths of psychedelic rock, the complexities of jazz fusion, and the vastness of space rock. Expect long-form instrumental jams, surreal visuals, and an authentic, human-made musical experience.

Joe Lance is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who gently pushes back on being pigeonholed into a certain genre or style.

Joe holds a Master of Arts in Composition & Theory from Andrews University. He lives in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The music production software I use is GarageBand macOS.
I play guitar, bass, and keyboard instruments.
Depending on the song, I use Apple Loop.
I record the drums on a MIDI keyboard or use the drummer function of GarageBand.
My favorite bands are 70's progressive bands such as King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Yes, and ELP.
I am always looking for vocalists.
