Jo Dawne emerged as an electronic dance music composer and producer, frustrated by the limited stock music options for her animations, she dusted off her Novation Launchkey and delved into mastering Ableton Live in 2023. With a background in both Tech and Photography, coupled with a profound affinity for animals, dance, art and music and a fascination with the cosmos, Jo finds solace in beach strolls while indulging in a diverse array of sounds, from the eclectic melodies of David Bowie to the rhythmic beats of Jan Blomqvist and Black Coffee.

Coming from a bustling household of five, music always filled the air, from the resonant chimes of Tubular Bells to the anthemic tunes of Queen and the groundbreaking melodies of David Bowie. During her teenage years, Jo assumed the role of the "ears" during her brother's band rehearsals, honing her knack for discerning subtle nuances within music. Witnessing her brother captivate crowds with his genre-fluid performances ignited her own musical curiosity. While she dabbled in piano pieces, she primarily gravitated towards exploring technological realms, much to her brother's chagrin. Relocating to Brighton, she found solace in the rhythmic hum of the seafront while rollerblading, her Walkman providing the soundtrack to her adventures.

Her musical journey led her to encounter an eclectic mix of influences, from the Afrobeat rhythms of King Sunny Adé and Fela Kuti to the avant-garde sounds of Grace Jones and the raw energy of Violent Femmes. David Bowie's visionary artistry and Queen's timeless anthems left an indelible mark on her musical psyche. Embracing music as her newfound passion, Jo discovered an inner voice she never knew existed, firmly believing in its transformative power to unify people during turbulent times.
