Sunny Sound System Brings Global Bass to Parramatta
On game day in Parramatta, the Sunny Sound System lit up the streets with a solar-powered DJ set blending Uber Lingua global bass — from Cumbia to Bhangra, Afro House to experimental global club sounds. The free outdoor session ran on the custom-built, 100% solar-powered sound system, proving that clean energy and big sound go hand-in-hand.
The set was mixed live on the street using Pioneer CDJs and featured high-energy global grooves from the heyday of global bass 2010-2012 when Uber Lingua events were igniting inspiration and celebrating Australia’s diverse cultures. The format is still community dancefloor dynamite designed to bring people together. Thanks to Parramatta Council for inviting the Sunny Soundsystem to be the soundtrack the series of Parramatta Eels game day warm-ups.
This performance celebrates multiculturalism, creativity, and sustainability in one package. In these times of division, global multicultural dancefloors offer a tonic and a way forward for our society.

Since the mid naughties I used live analogue equipment and Ableton live to create my tracks mixing in various external sounds from field recordings from protests and the environment to apps and live instruments.
I have been involved with D.J'ing and creating music since about 1991. From the Jellyheads collective to Vibe Tribe and Ohms Not Bombs. When I came to Australia in 1987 I hardly knew anyone. I left the U.K Festival and alternative culture that inspired me from age 16-20 then moved to Sydney.
I soon hooked up with like-minded folk here and embarked on a 30-year musical political and cultural adventure. 
We dared to dream and put our spirit into action fusing 'going off' community dances with social and environmental justice awareness raising. 
With the help of Graffiti Hall of Fame in Sydney we raised funds for a bus and travelled around Australia with Ohms Not Bombs. We rocked the city and surrounds with cheap and free parties from Sydney Park to Central Australia; from Reclaim the Streets to Electric Universe, Convergence and Channel parties. We joined the Earthdream and linked up with international travellers and indigenous Australia to oppose the earth destroying mining companies who think they run this country. Then for fun we put on Uber Lingua multi cultural melting pot dance events and swam in the global fascinating rhythms before taking over the lanes with Reclaim the Lane festivals rocking the block with home made wheelie bin sound systems powered by the sun. We oppose WestConnex, Sydney’s lock out laws and other backwards community-destroying operations by the powers that be.  The beat goes on....

Echo Clash is a agit-dub infused journey through various styles sometimes spitting out a social and environmental media and news samples, at times meandering to meditative dub driven down tempo ambient soundscapes and then ramping it up into global bass, doof infused post punk and reggae jam.

Other tracks on this comp chart my musical output from about 2014-2016. Electro, techno, experimental, bass heavy and acid/agit house are all in the mix. Social and Environmental justice are a theme in the voice samples which throws back to 1990's electronic music bands I was involved with like Non Bossy Posse and Organarchy Sound System
