Stephane Wrembel is one of the most highly regarded guitarists in the world specialized in the style of legendary composer/guitarist Django Reinhardt. Born in Fountainebleau, France, Stephane learned his craft traveling the French countryside before graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has had a remarkable career, touring the world, while releasing 16 albums under his name and the nom de plume, The Django Experiment.  His original compositions have been featured in Midnight in Paris (“Bistro Fada”), Vicki Cristina Barcelona (“Big Brother”) and Rifkin’s Festival (original score).   Midnight in Paris received the Grammy Award®  for “Best Compilation Soundtrack.” Stephane was selected by award-winning composer/producer Hans Zimmer to perform at the 2012 Academy Awards® as part of his “All Star Band” which also included Esperanza Spalding, Pharrell, and Shelia E.  Stephane recorded Gypsy Rumble and toured nationally with famed mandolinist/composer David Grisman.  He has opened or performed with Elvis Costello, Patti Smith, The Roots, Medeski Martin & Wood, Me’shell Ndegeocello, John Schofield, Larry Keel, Stochelo Rosenberg, Sam Bush and more.

In 2019, Wrembel released the highly regarded Django L’Impressionniste, featuring 17 of Reinhardt’s preludes for solo guitar, followed by a book of his transcriptions in 2021.  He is the only guitarist in the world to perform these 17 preludes in their entirety. 

Since 2003, Wrembel has produced the Django a Gogo Festival, bringing together some of the finest musicians in the world to celebrate the Sinti guitar style to perform in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and The Town Hall. 

Stephane’s world-class band includes Josh Kaye on guitar; Ari Folman-Cohen on bass, and Nick Anderson on drums.

"Bistro Fada" was written and performed by Stephane and His Band for the Woody Allen movie "Midnight In Paris".  It can be found on the 2011 album "Bistro Fada" as well as the 2012 album "Origins", off of which this version comes.  Enjoy!

Frizzo - All The Things You Are

Doesn't matter when Madmazel started to work or whom she's been working with or how many band she's created and how many disbands she's been into. All that matters is that she hopes to become THE Madmazel, and very soon.

Frizzo is a Nu Jazz Electro Swing Funk Dj and producer based in Glasgow UK.
Frizzo blends the jazz harmony with the club groove, his sound merges a forgotten era of Swing, Dixieland, New Orleans Jazz with the contemporary bouncy bass sound.
He is currently a resident Dj at the Variety Bar in Glasgow.
His activity brought him to perform in various venues in Scotland, Ireland, Italy and Brazil.
He released EPs with Electro Swing giants Billybong Records and Bristol based label Broken Records.

Born and bred in Italy he studied classical piano for 11 years before moving to Glasgow where he attained qualification in Sound Engineering.

Originario di Imperia, attualmente Frizzo vive a Glasgow dove ha studiato Sound Engineering e Sound design e partecipa regolarmente a serate in Scozia ed Irlanda.

He has been called “a revelation” by Rolling Stone. Woody Allen recruited him to score the theme for last year’s smash film Midnight in Paris, and he performed the irresistibly catchy original song live during the 2012 Academy Awards.  He has headlined at Lincoln Center, played major festivals, recorded with mandolin legend David Grisman, toured with master violinist Mark O’Connor and shared stages with everyone from Elvis Costello to Patti Smith to The Roots. The Gitane guitar company has even named a model after him. To say that Stephane Wrembel—who learned his craft among the Gypsies at campsites in the French countryside—has already had a remarkable career would be an understatement. But this virtuoso guitarist from France has truly just begun to make his mark as one of the most original guitar voices in contemporary music.

The band was set up in the spring of 2010, after meeting at jazz workshop in Groznjan, Croatia. 

Fascination with Django Reinhardt's opus as well as love for jazz manouche brought them together which resulted in forming a quintet. 

From 2011 to 2020, they appeared in numerous local and international venues, which include jazz clubs, festivals, public events, TV and radio appearances and private performances, to name just a few.

VLAN is a non commercial platform for musicians and DJs based in Vienna, Austria.
