✨POPPY'S VILLAIN SONG✨

What if the tale was rewritten? What if Poppy’s sacrifice to Branch was in vain? What if, instead of forfeiting his own life for Poppy's, Branch’s was blinded by bitterness over Poppy's betrayal? Abandoning her to an eternity in the underworld, while he found another, less altruistic way to ascend to godhood and spent his own eternity amongst the immortals, sitting comfortably beside his father, in a throne of his own. What then happens to Poppy? What does she become?… 

Well that is indeed how our tale differs from the original. After being abandoned by Branch and left for dead, Poppy finds herself floating down the river. The final resting place for the lost souls of the dead, who are doomed to repeat their worst moments in life over and over again, until all the life is drained from them.

Poppy never lost her desire to live though, it burned brightly like a flame that could not be extinguished, fuelled by the hatred she had for the Bergens eat trolls during the Trollstice Feast alike who had treated her life as a means to an end. 

Every memory she relived added to the fire, Her first love leaving her, Chef Bergen manipulating and holding her soul ransom, and the worst, Branch leaving her under that pillar to die, knowing that every time she called to him, he had heard but had not answered. All these memories fuelled her rage until it burned so hot, the river itself seemed to boil around her.

Bergens Guards, the guards of the castle through the rivers, noticed this anger and plucked her from the waters. No one usually makes it this long in the river. And so Poppy made a deal with the Ferrymen, who told her the secret of the gods immortality and how to take it for her own, in exchange for a seat in her new pantheon.

Armed with forbidden knowledge, Poppy steals Chef Bergen life essence from her, gaining her powers and leaving what remained of his rotting soul to join the waters of the river. 

We meet Poppy after these events as she introduces herself to her subjects as the new queen of the Bergen Town. Here she outlines her plan to take control, the underworld was just the beginning, she would topple the very mountain of Troll Village, taking an army of the undead with her to kill Branch and any other trolls that would stand in her way.

She will strip them of their power, make it her own and punish them for meddling with the lives of mortals for “sport”. 

But absolute power corrupts absolutely, and with Poppy heading up a new pantheon of Trolls, a cycle already seen with the titans, will surely start again. Poppy plans to take power and she plans on keeping it…

A raw, howling anthem for the sacredly unhinged—where the Lotus Sutra collides with Greek mythos and Appalachian grit. Follow the outlaw pilgrim’s journey from temple exile to cosmic kinship, guided by Samantabhadra’s six-tusked elephant, Hercules’ club, and Asclepius’ half-spoken cures. Banjos duel with sitars, thunder harmonizes with mantras, and every chorus is a middle finger to dogma. For those who’ve tasted the Dharma in storm clouds and found Bodhisattvas in barroom brawls. This song mirrors the madness: crumbling temples, mirrored lotuses, and a throne built from broken precepts. The path home is paved with holy heresy.
