It's been over 3 years since Max Marlon (a total unknown to me at the time) was a guest on our podcast series. The mix back then was already top notch and peppered with a number of dark and bouncy tracks (https://soundcloud.com/afterhour-sounds/max-marlon-presents-afterhour-sounds-podcast-nr-217). Yes, there were times just before the official bounce tempo. 

Well, a lot of water has flowed down the Spree since then. Max has made a name for himself as a DJ in the scene and is certainly known far beyond the borders of Germany. Among other things, he curates his own podcast series Auf Achse (https://soundcloud.com/aufachsee).

We also think he's a wonderful DJ (yes, we booked him once and were incredulous when he started a backspin during his set <3 ). We think words are superfluous given his perfectionism and exclusive track selection. The same goes for his recording from the Endless station. Just wow. Thank you Max.

✔️ What is your musical background and influences?
I grew up listening to my dad's rock. After a Kalkbrenner concert when I was 14, everything was clear - I bought my first records, explored Berlin's nightlife and soon started playing techno.
When I joined RummelsBucht, my music slowed down, although my love for minimal techno with psy elements never stopped and now, as you can hear in the recording, I love to rock again - all BPMs are beautiful!

Biografie:

1995 besuchte Sebastian die ersten Bunker Partys, und entdeckte seine Liebe zur Elektronischen Musik, schließlich fing er 1998 an mit dem Auflegen, unter dem Namen Sebastian Keks.
100% Vinyl DJ mit voller Hingabe, sein Sound ist geprägt vom Techno der neunziger. 
Sebastian lässt sich kaum kategorisieren, gespielt werden verschiedene Sub Genres zwischen 125-150 Bpm.
Als VINYLISMM eher so im Bereich electronic Music und Tech House bis hin zum minimal einzuordnen, als SEBASTIAN KEKS, ganz klar Techno, dies allerdings von Melodic, über Oldschool bis hin zum Hardtechno.

Sebastian gründete mit seinem Zwillingsbruder im Oktober 2000 die Crew Umweltpumpe1, die sich in den ersten Jahren auf Techno Veranstaltungen beschränkt hat.
2002 wurde dann aus Umweltpumpe1 ein kleines Techno Label (Up1 Records),.

Sebastian war von 2004 bis zum Closing 2013 resident DJ im Triebwerk Dresden 

2014 hat er die Veranstaltungsreihen
Nachteulen sowie Berlin Techno ins Leben gerufen

Seit März 2024 Mitglied bei SUT - Secret Underground Techno

Mitglied bei KDN- Kinder der Nacht Events seit August 2024

2005 hat umweltpumpe1 die erste Party unter dem Namen, Gepflegtes Klopfen im Triebwerk Dresden veranstaltet hinzu kamen weitere in Deutschland und Polen. 
2024 startete ein weiteres Projekt, 
Gepflegtes Klopfen series, ein podcast Kanal, wo der Focus darauf liegt, 
Techno Sets von verschiedenen DJs zu veröffentlichen, ohne Schikki Mikki.

In 1995, Sebastian attended his first bunker parties and discovered his love for electronic music. Eventually, in 1998, he began DJing under the name Sebastian Keks. A 100% vinyl DJ with full dedication, his sound is deeply rooted in 90s techno. In October 2000, Sebastian and his twin brother founded the crew Umweltpumpe1, which initially focused on techno events. In 2002, Umweltpumpe1 evolved into a small techno label, Up1 Records. From 2004 until its closing in 2013, Sebastian was a resident DJ at Triebwerk Dresden. In 2014, he launched the event series Nachteulen and Berlin Techno. Since March 2024, he has been a member of SUT - Secret Underground Techno. Since August 2024, he has also been part of KDN - Kinder der Nacht Events. In 2005, Umweltpumpe1 organized its first party under the name Gepflegtes Klopfen at Triebwerk Dresden, followed by additional events in Germany and Poland. In 2024, another project was launched: Gepflegtes Klopfen Series, a podcast channel focused on publishing techno sets by various DJs without any frills or gimmicks.
