Hey I’m Jesus B. 

I would consider myself a chill guy, and that’s reflected in my music. I came up in a small village named “Port Alexander” with a population of about 80 people, and only a few of them were around my age. I lived around Washington state for a while but like clockwork ended up back in the city I was born in (Sitka, Alaska). 

I like to write about forgotten tales from another time. I find beauty in the details of life, whether it be a timid smile or the intricate movements of reality. I write about the love I’ve never felt, hoping to manifest something amazing from my music. I write about heartbreak and finding new affection, the parties I wasn’t invited to, entirely new worlds, and the rumors that go down the grapevine. 

My music is all inspired from my back story, whether it be the struggles of fitting into the crowd, the triumph of having to chop firewood for my house to stay warm in rural Alaska, or simply walking in the streets of Seattle hoping trouble doesn’t find it’s way towards me. 

I started making music in 2015 when I was 18 years old, of course my style was a lot different back then and came from a different place than it does now. There are songs I’ve written half a decade ago that I’m still working on and trying to perfect. It hasn’t been easy being viewed as an artist all of this time, I’ve lost friends who didn’t believe in me, swayed far from some family, and overall struggled with finding my crowd who loves my music. It’s not easy being an artist, but I’ve got to say there is nothing more beautiful than creating a song and being able to reflect upon it from years to come.

My name “Jesus B.” is of course giving praise to the son of God, however it also aims to shed light on mental health issues that I’ve struggled with since I was young. I was born with schizophrenia, and it has been a rough journey so far, but like a man cast away in the ocean I can finally see the shore and it isn’t too far away. I know that everybody has some kind of soup on the stove, and we all struggle with our own shortcomings. Just know one thing about yourself: you are perfect, and you deserve love.
