As Andres and I sat down to record a new song of mine this song magically came out of us. The California fires of January 2025 reached their peak on January 8th and was all over the news and the feed. I couldn't help but channel that. This also made take a step back and be reminded that there are fires all around the world at the moment. Both physically and spiritually. This recording serves as a moment of gratitude for the studio we have as many have now been destroyed now in California. I hope this song can serves as a snapshot for this time, that those who listen can be uplifted and feel seen. This song is dedicated to those who are displaced in the world today.

Somethin’ Else is a weekly radio show in the Bellingen shire of mid North Coast NSW, Australia, delving deep into music forms that exists on the outer edge, taking the listener on a journey into who, why and how of music creation…touching on avant-garde, experimental expression, free jazz, weird folk, post punk, psych, minimalism and much more. At times focusing on an artist, micro-scene, labels or specific genre, Tune in and have your ears and mind challenged!

Presenter Mark Morris has spent many years before moving to Australia, working in the music industry, from his early days at Ray’s Jazz Shop in Soho, London, independent record labels, culminating in the curation of his own record label Bo’ Weavil Recordings. A labour of love, Bo’ Weavil catalogued free jazz, noise, drone and folk from contemporary musicians while reissuing long out of print gems from across the globe. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his weekly broadcasts.

I attempt to capture the essence of place, time and environment through textured sounds. Most of my pieces are derived from memories and reminiscence and try to recreate that experience, or at least the imagined memory and feelings evoked.
