Harp Stories is an album project that began as a creative effort by Bruce Healey to compose music for solo harp with the intent of adding to the body of classical harp repertoire. This has resulted in the piece entitled Harp Set. This piece is an open-ended collection of pieces that are eclectic and programmatic in nature and utilize various traditional and “avant-garde” techniques available to the contemporary harpist. 
Bruce Healey and Alexander Boldachev met at Alexander’s concert in Los Angeles. Impressed with Alexander’s encyclopedic knowledge of the harp, and his virtuosic technique, Bruce asked Alexander to give feedback on the movements Bruce had written. This resulted in the incorporation of many performance techniques that have brought a varied color palette to Bruce’s compositions and gave rise to the idea of making a recording of Alexander performing the five-movement piece, as well as recording five pieces composed by Alexander himself.
