The Worst Birthday Ever!

Scende la fiducia nella sanità pubblica destinata a offrire un servizio sempre meno di qualità e quella privata è ancora per pochi. Questo il messaggio principale di un sondaggio su campione non statistico lanciato da Adnkronos sul suo portale, che ha coinvolto 6.500 utenti dal 5 al 17 marzo. Le risposte  sono nette: il 60% del campione, infatti, ha meno fiducia rispetto al passato nel servizio sanitario pubblico e del mal funzionamento si dà la responsabilità in primis allo Stato (60%) ma anche alle Regioni (49%). I cittadini interpellati considerano la sanità privata come un’alternativa per pochi (91%) e soltanto 1 su 3 ritiene che ancora nel corso del 2024 si potrà continuare a curare nel pubblico alle stesse condizioni di oggi. Si dicono molto preoccupati soprattutto per il problema delle lunghe liste d’attesa (52%) e per la carenza di personale medico (37%). Il 60% degli utenti non sarebbe disposto a sottoscrivere un’assicurazione sanitaria, contro il 20% favorevole. Circa un quinto dei rispondenti ce l’ha già ma solo poco più della metà di questi la rinnoverebbe. La riduzione progressiva della spesa sanitaria, da un lato, e il tendenziale mutamento sociodemografico, dall’altro, stanno determinando infatti un generale incremento della domanda di salute che il sistema pubblico da solo non è più in grado di soddisfare. "Le liste d'attesa sono il peggior biglietto da visita del Servizio sanitario nazionale - ricorda il ministro della Salute Orazio Schillaci - oggi però non abbiamo dati precisi. Un anno e mezzo per un esame è inammissibile, ma non abbiamo un monitoraggio regione per regione delle prestazioni che mancano. Ma dobbiamo vedere dove ci sono e i tempi delle liste d'attesa. E' però inaccettabile che non ci sia un Cup unico per esami e visite nel pubblico e privato convenzionato".
NEUROBLASTOMA INFANTILE, SPERANZA DALLA CAR-T
Il neuroblastoma è una sfida complessa per la pediatria oncologica, il tasso di sopravvivenza a cinque anni per questo tumore si aggira intorno al 50% per i bambini con forme ad alto rischio. Tuttavia, i risultati di uno studio, condotto dal gruppo di ricerca guidato dal Prof. Roberto Chiarle del Dipartimento di Biotecnologie Molecolari e Scienze per la Salute dell’Università di Torino, e professore presso il Boston Children's Hospital e la Harvard Medical School, ha delineato una nuova strategia terapeutica che potrebbe migliorare l’efficacia delle cure per questo tipo di tumore. 
EFFETTI DEL CAMBIAMENTO CLIMATICO SUI BACINI IDRICI DEL TICINO
La Svizzera è uno dei paesi europei più ricchi di acqua grazie ai suoi fiumi, laghi, ghiacciai, acque sotterranee e montagne innevate, e in particolare il Ticino rientra tra i cantoni con le maggiori precipitazioni. Negli ultimi anni il cambiamento climatico ha alterato la distribuzione delle precipitazioni nell’arco dell’anno con conseguenti importanti differenze della disponibilità idrica da una stagione all’altra. Infatti, stiamo assistendo sempre più frequentemente a periodi di siccità prolungata, come nel 2022, quando si è registrata una riduzione del 50% delle precipitazioni nel Mendrisiotto e del  meno 30% nel resto del Ticino rispetto alla media. Allo stesso tempo, cresce il rischio di inondazioni e dissesti idrogeologici associati a fenomeni temporaleschi intensi e si registrano meno nevicate in inverno. I cambiamenti determinati dal clima hanno effetti anche sulle temperature dell’acqua in fiumi, laghi e acque sotterranee, che sono già sensibilmente aumentate negli ultimi decenni. Questo innalzamento di temperatura è evidente nelle acque superficiali e si prevede che senza misure a favore della protezione del clima l’aumento sarà di + 3 - 4 gradi Centigradi entro la fine del secolo. Anche le profondità dei laghi si scaldano e negli ultimi tre decenni le acque profonde dei due maggiori laghi in Ticino hanno fatto registrare importanti aumenti.
