Robert Connely Farr is a songwriter from Bolton, Mississippi - hometown of musical legends Charley Patton & the Mississippi Sheiks. Farr is a friend & protege of Jimmy Duck Holmes, one of the original Bentonia bluesmen who learned directly from Henry Stuckey (who also taught Skip James). 

His 2019 “Dirty South Blues” & was released to immediate critical acclaim. Greg Vandy at KEXP named it as one of their top albums of the year & #DirtySouthBlues  earned Farr nominations for both Songwriter of the Year & New Artist of the Year by Canada’s prestigious Maple Blues Awards. Farr’s music has been used on Netflix (Snowpiercer), SYFY (Resident Alien) & TNT . He currently resides in East Vancouver Canada.

Howdy everybody! And Happy Easter!

We rarely give a preface to our songs 'cause we wanna leave everything up to interpretation as much as possible, but @thebeautifuldark inspired us to be more communicative. And so, we're back to Blues! No matter how far into Punk or Metal we go, good old Loud, Electric, Heavy Blues always pulls us back. This time around got @tezcatreal to give thanks for the Blues pivot. His crazy Hard Rock/Blues songs were a big inspiration for the overall theme. Check out both of them to listen music that is actually good!

So, a Blues Metal song about a blue sea, a sailor with the "blues", blue thunder clouds and an indescribable blue embodiment of all of those things (think Cthulhu) seemed like the most layers of one color we could stack up in under 5 minutes. 
Now what all that actually means, it's up to you to decide. We know what it means to us.

Wanted Tortugas are the explosive convergence of five Belgian musicians from the Tournai region, each hailing from different backgrounds, united by their passion for a rock/garage band influenced by blues, stoner, and psychedelic music.

The group was originally formed in 2017 and performed extensively across a variety of venues and bars until June 2019. After a more than five-year hiatus, the Tortugas made their comeback in early 2024 with two new members. The new Tortugas lineup stands out from the original, reinventing itself while still bringing the same high-energy performances. Their garage/blues sound is now heavily infused with stoner and heavy psych influences.
