It is regrettable to inform you that this set was lost due to unforeseen complications with my computer. Now, almost a year later, I have rediscovered it on my hard drive and would like to take this opportunity to share my set from the Kater with you retroactively. On January 6, 2023, I had the great privilege of making my debut on the Heinz Hopper Floor – a memorable event <3.

My sincere thanks go to all my friends who were present on this special evening and to the passionate dancers who celebrated with me. It was undoubtedly a highly fulfilling experience to celebrate the start of the new year with all of you. Your energy and enthusiasm made this evening something unique.

Huiuiuiui. Das war “einfach - ehrlich - blau”… und absolutamente fantastisch!!
4 Stunden Abfahrt plus 45 spontane Extraminuten weils so schön war.
Und frei nach dem Motto "wenn fast nur noch Knaller Tracks mit Vocals produziert werden, dann spielen wir halt fast nur noch Knaller-Tracks mit Vocals" kann diesmal nicht nur getanzt, sondern auch mitgesungen werden ;)

Danke an alle, die es möglich und unvergesslich gemacht haben. Ramschakllove!

PS: Leider hat es das erste Drittel nicht aufs Recording geschafft (irgendwas ist immer) und wurde daher via Remote Auflegen in Ableton neu gemacht und drangeschnippelt. Haben uns Mühe gegeben, dass aber trotzdem alles klingt wie ganz in echt ;)

ELIXIR truly blue @ Kater Blau, Heinz Hopper 2023

In 2016 I went to -now my dear friend, back then only my favorite DJ- Mira's birthday at Kater Blau for the first time. I was super into music, making mixtapes at home, going to so many parties and writing about them but not a DJ yet.

The vibe of the club, the music in all floors, and the fact that Mira is big supporter of female acts and seeing all these badass women playing mind-blowing music at this party had its mark on me.

Watching these legends Mira, Britta, Mimi Love, Mila Stern, Caleesi, I wanted to do it myself and I found the motivation, courage and inspiration because they were also women like me! Representation is so important!

In the following years I kept going to this party for my yearly dose of inspiration and of course fun!

Over the years, inspired by Mira and being colleagues now, we became friends and her impact on my life wasn't just musical. She's such a wise and wholesome person with integrity and the heart in all in the right places, that having her as a friend and inspiration definitely made me a better person and my journey of the new international touring DJ way smoother.

in 2021 I was even supposed to play for Mira's 44th birthday for the first time but the pandemic... (I mean I don't even need to finish this sentence). I ended up playing her 44.5 in Summer, the Ersatz Katzen party :)

Anyway, fast forward to 7 years and the birthday queen not only invited me to play her 46 Katzen party but also gave me the biggest honor of taking over the stage after her.

Playing Thursday in NYC, Friday in Montreal, flying back to Europe on Saturday, Sunday noon I arrived to Berlin like a zombie. Sleep before and after the set is hard but during... Actually not that bad. I was on a dream state throughout my set.

It felt really like a dream playing in a room not too long ago gave me the inspiration to be here today celebrating a women who always lifts others up as she rises. 

I also played music from my label Marginalia, I heard Mira and Mila Stern playing Marginalia too and I also two new artists from Marginalia family, Bakayan and D’aria were In the room when I played their unreleased music! What a moment 
I stayed sleep dancing until late because of all the incredible music

Every year, with the exception of 2020 for reasons we all know, I've been attending this incredible party. Each time, it leaves me feeling revitalized, brimming with energy, creativity, and motivation. The sheer talent present, both onstage and offstage at Katerblau, is astounding. Being invited back each year by my dear friend @mira_kater is an immense privilege and honor. 
These birthday celebrations go beyond mere social events - they are pivotal gatherings where artists converge, creating a fertile ground for collaboration and artistic exchange. This part is super important – it really ramps up how we all connect through art and expression, helping everyone's creativity shine, both solo and as a group. I'm especially grateful to Mira for orchestrating such a significant event around her birthdays <3 
This year, I had the honor of wrapping up the Heinz Hopper stage on Monday afternoon. My set began at 8:30 am, following the electrifying performance of @pauli-pocket and @sheila_wn. Although scheduled to conclude at noon, the energy was so infectious that I played until 2:30 pm. A highlight was playing back-to-back with @matildoutz-paris, an artist whose work I frequently admire. Initially, it was a group back-to-back session alongside Matilda, my good friend @shimon-earthly, and his music partner @farrylive. But in the last hour, it was just Matilda and me, creating an exhilarating atmosphere. Despite the fatigue from my travels, we were lost in the music, dancing, and feeding off the crowd's energy.
So, without further ado, here's the recording of that set. Bonus points to anyone who can guess first where the b2b session starts! ;)

Drew Exildiscount is a composer, sound engineer, producer and DJ from Berlin. Whether it is in working alongside video artists or in compiling a techno set, Drew’s work always operates along the same tenets: exploring, challenging and recontextualising the different narratives, disciplines, identities, perspectives and discourses that inform both a work itself as much as our understanding of it. In this, they draw on their formal training as much their biography. Born to Christian cultist parents, they spent their childhood playing music in pedestrian malls of Germany with their family band. Escaping the ideological confines of religion and prescriptive masculinity as a gender non-conforming teenager, Drew first pursued training as an events technician, then studied at Humboldt University of Berlin, majoring in Musicology and Media (Studiengang „Musik und Medien“), and minoring in Cultural Studies. They started out DJing in 2003 and now regularly play at parties across the queer scene of Berlin, such as House of Red Doors, Gegen, Chantals House of Shame and as a longtime resident at SchwuZ. Their work is driven by a belief in idealism rather than ideologies.

LINBER LYNX was born in Rijeka, Croatia on New Year's Eve. From her first B-day and her second home Berlin, everything went direction music. 80-90 pop & rock scene, 90-s RnB and hip hop movement …
All the exploring & years of golden era clubbing has a strong influence on her sets.

Playing from deep too progressive ,of course both House & Techno!
Fine melodic touches & old-school vibe which is her recognisable signature.Nurturing a specific bass line & very grove style in all her performances.High energy on the stage and specific mixing style are big edits to her intense danceable sets and charismatic appearance.

She had 5 years of parallel residency in Slovenia & Croatia & also played numerous great events like: EXIT festival, ADE, Festival DeVet in Belgrad, Overlake, EMAC, Kangra,& allnighter in the famous Club 1 in Zagreb in his last days before closing.
Playing across all of Europe and the Balkan area, Istanbul,Cairo,London,Poland,Amsterdam, Hurgada & of course her big love Berlin where she lives & play now. 
In 2013 she started LIQUID events bringing a fresh experience to the underground scene. Choosing crazy locations, bold line-ups, and massive sound systems. Her profound musical taste is also to be seen in her Proton radio guest mix collaborations and all LIQUID bookings. There she worked with old pioneers of Balkan electronic music like :Felver, Pion, Pacco, Marc Grabber, Tom Jay, Petar Cvetkovic, Silvio Hrabar,Haris Custovic & hosting some great artists like :Dimitri Monev,JP Elloriaga, BRLEE, Jonas Saalbach, Guzy, Dejan Milicevic, Adoo,Oscar Poulsen,Jaime Bustos … Proton radio future artist with a top 3 in several shows and a top 1 charted with the VS show. There she shared company with: John Digweed & Sasha, Darren Emerson who are her personal heroes! After big success at Proton USA, she started the LYNX Radio show exclusively for Bloop London. 
She shared the decks with Citizen Kain, James Zabiela, Undercatt, Collective Machine, Detroit Swindle, Isolate, Moodplex ,Paul Anthonee  Nick Devon, Olivier Weiter, Mark Tarmonea, Omar Khalifa, BRLEE, MPathy ….
 With her podcast series “ANUNNAKI BRIDE TALE “ and LIVE show from the PYRAMIDS she put the stamp on some serious development.Her first EP “ELOHIM” for Lump Records climbed the charts from the start & got great support.
