Daniel von Heimendahl explains the technology behind Aqua Primus. He studied Business Administration and Technology Management in Switzerland and South Africa. After several years in Strategy Consulting, he joined Siemens Gamesa more than ten years ago and has worked in various leadership positions. He currently focuses on long-term technology development, especially on Siemens Gamesa Renewables Offshore Hydrogen strategy.

The AquaPrimus project provides a springboard technology to ramp-up Green Hydrogen Production at Sea. The framework conditions for large-scale hydrogen production offshore, the core elements of an Offshore hydrogen producing wind turbine and the innovations around it are explained in two lectures.

Jörg Singer, Chairman of the board of AquaVentus Förderverein. He studied industrial engineering in Germany and the USA and subsequently worked in the high-tech industry. As mayor of Helgoland, he strengthened the island by promoting a new service industry around offshore wind. In 2020, he co-founded AquaVentus to foster the development of a "Green Hydrogen Powerhouse" in the North Sea.

Our adventure begins on the open deck, where the gentle symphony of the wind and sea serenade our senses. As we make our way below decks, we navigate through a lively crowd of spirited punk enthusiasts, eagerly en route to the renowned Butterfahrt Festival on Düne Island. It's only 8 am, yet the affordable beer flows freely, and I apologize in advance for any language that might be deemed inappropriate by our German-speaking friends.

Venturing deeper into the heart of the ship, we are enveloped by the rhythmic rumble and vibrations emanating from the engine, providing a captivating backdrop to the lively conversations, clinking cutlery, and eclectic music that fills the air. As we ascend past the engine room, climbing higher and higher, we reach a tranquil sanctuary after passing through the portholed door once again, greeted by the refreshing northern breeze that kisses our faces.
