"The mix is a recording of a club set I played at Leipzig’s Stolen Money Posse event series. It's a very raw and cheerful mix that's also a kind of homage to the origins of electronic dance music and many genres I’m crazy about, such as baile funk, hip hop, bass or minimal. It’s a little rough around the edges, soulful, groovy and full of delight in experimentation. Like a good rave."

Mila Stern’s far over a decade-long career as a DJ and producer has taken her from squat parties in Halle (eastern Germany), where she first learned her craft, through the pulsing motley of Tel Aviv, to her adopted home of Berlin and the epicenter of electronic club culture. Her calm, commanding skill as a selector rapidly made her a sought-after artist, with regular appearances at premier festivals like Fusion, Nation of Gondwana, and Garbicz, and residencies at Berlin’s legendary Kater Club and Station Endlos in Halle. Since then, she’s transcended the boundaries of the Berlin underground, bringing her signature style to the international circuit from Mexico to Kazakhstan. Mila delivers a groove-heavy aesthetic that has recently shifted toward deeper, more focused energies — drawing on restrained propulsion, textured sound design, and subtly evolving rhythms. Her selections now balance minimalism and intensity, rooted in the hypnotic but never stuck in genre constraints. What sets her apart is a willingness to embrace unorthodox sonic spaces, explore the beauty in harshness and dissonance, and embed arresting moments in robust, rolling substructures. From her early days, Mila’s sound has been shaped by a sense of counterculture and the urge to break normative boundaries. Her DJ sets — especially long-form closings — encapsulate a vision of rave culture as expressive, eclectic, and non-judgmental. She continues to draw on risqué, narrative-driven tracks and boldly carves out new territory without compromise — even as the context around her evolves. As a DJ, producer, event organizer, former radio host, and label co-founder, she pushes the envelope while rejecting genre dogma. In 2025, Mila co-founded the label MiZi MuZiK with long-time friend and collaborator Mira—a platform shaped by their shared values of autonomy and artistic integrity. While the label and Mila’s current musical direction follow distinct paths, both are rooted in a deep belief in sound that speaks for itself. Few artists balance deep floor energy with such artistic clarity. Mila Stern continues to evolve her sound while remaining grounded in a rave ethos that challenges paradigms and makes space for what lies ahead.

HMWL Podcast 408: Mila Stern - Detect (Mizi Muzik)

Sanvero is an Italian-Chilean producer and DJ duo based in New York City. What began as simply a hobby playing for friends quickly evolved into wide recognition in the local New York scene. They have become known for captivating audiences with a unique blend of afro and indie house that stays true to their native roots. While always surprising, their sets are heavily inspired by Latin American rhythms and European melodic sounds.

Their second record "Riviera", released by the renowned deep house label Cafe de Anatolia, has been supported by renown acts like Maxi Meraki and Hoax (BE). This success was quickly followed by industry legend Hernan Cattaneo, who has been strongly promoting (instead of supporting) their latest track "Oasis" (Lush Sunday), among other heavy hitters like Guy Mantzur, Emi Galvan, and Volaris who played it at top clubs (instead of supported it at renowned venues) like Hi Ibiza, Warung Beach Club.

The duo has opened for headline acts like Maz, Sébastien Léger, Amémé, Joris Voorn, Pachanga Boys and Francis Mercier, besides having played at multiple festivals, including Elements Festival, We Belong Here in Miami and New York, and made their Brooklyn Mirage debut in October 2023. Their sets are a journey through sound, taking listeners on a musical adventure that traverses continents and genres. From the deep, soulful beats of Afro House to the smooth, hypnotic rhythms of Deep House, their performances and productions blend traditional instruments with modern electronic elements, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new.

"An eclectic mix of Indie Dance, Melodic House and a twist of Nu-Disco"


Martin Brodin is a Swedish DJ, producer, and most importantly a music lover.

His serious interest in music began during the early 1980s, a decade in which he grooved to the sounds of Yello, Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk. Martin became instantly hooked on House music when he heard Lil Louis’ French Kiss in the early 1990s. His passion for Disco began with First Choice’s Dr Love.

A champion of the re-emergence of Disco, Martin Brodin founded MB Disco in 2010. This label has released music from the likes of Psychemagik, Ray Mang and Chicken Lips, as well as Brodin’s debut album. Leroy Burgess featured on one release and Martin has put out updated remixes of classics by Newcleus and Giorgio Moroder. The MB Edits sub-label was launched in 2013, well ahead of the current edits trend.

Before MB Disco, Martin Brodin ran labels that were important in the development of Deep House and Tech House. His Deeplay Music label championed soulful flavours from the likes of Physics, Jask, Rurals and Dalminjo, whilst Deeplay Soultec released music by Martinez, Jori Hulkkonen, Guy Gerber, Noir and Tiger Stripes (as 12th Floor) amongst others.

Martin Brodin has released music on labels such as Southern Fried, Buzzin Fly, Compost, Buzzin Fly and Nang, as well as his own imprints. His tracks have been remixed by the likes of Spencer Parker, diskJokke, Bottin and Faze Action. Brodin’s productions caught the ears of DJs like Carl Cox, Nick Warren, Andrew Weatherall and Claude VonStroke, who included Martin’s music on their mix CDs.

As a remixer, three moments stand out for Martin. The first was when he was asked to remix Human League’s Sky, which was released on Wall Of Sound. The second was his revision of Giorgio Moroder’s 1978 classic, The Chase. The third was the remix he did of She’s Electric by legendary synth band Visage.

His first DJ mix CD was Compilation of the Month in IDJ Magazine, back in 2005. As a DJ, Martin has played everywhere from London to Tokyo.

Today, Martin Brodin is still an active producer, DJ and label boss.
