December Liberty: Acetate Home Records of Lower-Midwest Winters

Written in 1927, “Stardust” has been recorded over 1,500 times and is now considered to be part of the Great American Songbook. This stellar Paul Clark arrangement includes the 16 bar introduction, followed by solo trumpet on the first verse. Full ensemble plays the 2nd verse, with a solo trumpet ending that’s as pretty as stardust. A classic arrangement of a great American standard. Perfect for adult community bands as well!

Legendary Ziggy Stardust Cowboy [original song]

A morning piano improv on a melody by Hoagy Carmichael. Though best known for the fabulous Ray Charles recording, this song was composed by Carmichael in 1930. It's associated with the US state of Georgia, and the lyrical reference to "moonlight in the pines" suggests that, but the lyrics were penned by Stuart Gorrell who was likely thinking of Hoagy's sister Georgia. Stuart Gorrell never wrote a lyric before this one, nor after. Nevertheless, an illustrious career.

This is a casual version, the way I actually play the piano in my living room. Far from perfect but I feel like that it's not too far from the way Hoagy imagined it.  Recorded on the Kawai D30 shown in the photo in North Judson, Indiana USA on February 19, 2024.

2023 - For the past few months I've been working with Public Resource, a California based non-profit to release an extensive collection of older music for free use. In addition to audio, we'll be releasing the music as MIDI and musicxml. Last week we started posting a new featured piece every week on the Public Resource Soundcloud page (@PublicResource). Hello everyone! 
I started singing in November 2011. I uploaded a few songs to Youtube, all recorded with the digital voice recorder I used to interview people...I was a market research consultant; I conducted research projects in 5 languages; I am now retired. So that's how the whole thing started... Just for fun I could say. But there was also another deeper, more personal, reason for my starting to sing, which I may tell you about one day... 
I have no musical background, I can't read music, I do everything by ear and by feel only; I just love to sing :)
I hope you will enjoy my very varied repertoire: Jazz, Pop, Blues, Rn'B, Folk, Latino, Electronica etc... and my videos which I make myself.

"Handmade music", allowing room for creativity and spontaneity is "my thing". For me, this works best with Jazz, Blues, R&B and Funk. But also the great masters of classical music inspire and motivate me to continue learning and exploring. And then, I also like good beats that go into feet and heart, no matter what genre.
