Founded in 1991 by Dr. William Rosenblatt, REMEDY is a non-profit organization that facilitates the salvage of unused medical supplies to support healthcare in developing nations. The group addresses the massive volume of surgical waste in American hospitals by recovering items that are sterile but slated for disposal due to strict domestic regulations. Through a standardized recovery protocol, the initiative converts potential trash into millions of dollars worth of international medical aid while simultaneously reducing hospital disposal costs. Educational resources and teaching packets are provided to help diverse medical facilities implement these sustainable practices locally. Beyond logistics, the organization collaborates with charitable partners to ensure recovered materials reach areas facing chronic shortages.
