HYPNOTIC | GROOVY | TECHNO | SESSION ONE BY DJ SKAOS

A continuation of the space series. through the void. After creating an EOY mix of the users voted and my top 2023 content for Trancefix, I realized there were so many tracks left on the table I had not had a chance to mix, especially from the ambient and downtempo ranges. A bunch of the rated top tracks users voted didn't fit the previous mix either. That atmospheric, trippy, even housey vibe in mid and higher tempos just didn't gel with the outwardly melodic and more... traditional?? trance style. Thus this mix developed, to explore the slower content fully and with plenty of breathing room, and to explore those left behind tracks I couldn't use last time. It's another long one, ranging from 110-153bpm over 4.5 hours. This is meant to be mostly an 2023 EOY mix, Part II, though I needed a special intro for this one, hence the track from 1995. Union Jack, fuck yeah. Also, there were a few 2022 tracks that fit too well to well to leave out. The first 1.5 hour is truly the void, where one can get lost in the dreamy downtempo and ambiance. The mix slowly morphs in to prog and some atmosphere, and after the 3 hour marks things get wild. Enjoy the void.

Norwegian Mov(i)es podcast is a mix series where each mix is inspired by iconic scenes from Norwegian movies. Norwegians are known as one of the world’s most stiff peoples in the world both on the dancefloor and as characters in movies. As I am half Ghanaian and half Norwegian I’ve taken on the challenge to loosen up my countrymen. The rules and steps are simple: One movie scene, a lot of hardgroove and hypnotech to blow the clunkiness away, before reaching a higher place with some trance. Then, to celebrate the liberation of mobility, I always finish of with one tune from the genre that Norwegian hips fear the most...hip-hop. Good swing, get in!

Merve Schulz a.k.a Frau Schulz;
Born’t in 11.06.1988 - İstanbul / Turkey.
Started music in 2005 in the hip-hop group "Kadıköy Acil" in the streets of Istanbul - Kadıköy.
In 2007, she published one of Turkey's first underground RnB album, called "Gerçekler Göremediklerin", with the nickname Chapac, from Hiphoplife.net.
By 2014, she reached more than 300 song lyrics and more than 150 studio recordings in 3 languages.
Since she focused on Fitness Journalism and Bodybuilding Champions in 2015, she continued to play music as an amateur DJ and producers' electronic songs with vocals.
While earning many championship entitles around the world in her bodybuilding career, she became the world champion by winning the first place for Turkey at the Wabba Mr&Ms Universe Championships in 2018.
She became the first athlete to transform from obesity to become a world champion. While her success story was the guest of many newspapers, magazines and television channels; The story of which was crowned with success was broadcast as a documentary. Merve, the first bodybuilding athlete whose documentary was shot in Turkey. She ended her career after receiving the world championship title.
Merve, who has been living in Berlin part-time since 2017; electronic and especially techno music was an opportunity to experience closely where it was born. Merve, who decided to continue her music career with techno music with the motivation and inspiration she got from Berlin; she started performing techno music with the stage name "MA.MA" in 2020. She moved in Berlin since June 2022, continues her career in Berlin under the official name 'Frau Schulz'.

She is now proudly presenting her new Collective project with the most original Berlin underground rave sound : NEON DECKS BERLIN...

BIO:

Born in Barcelona in 1981, Pedro Sanmartín is a multidisciplinary artist who while studying a bachelor in Fine arts learned how to produce and compose his own music as well as the art of mixing vinyl. 
He spent some time immersed in the club culture of Germany where he launched his Dj career in 2005, playing at some clubs around the country.

His productions in the last years on labels like Seven Villas, Everything Will Be Ok, Loot Recordings, Univack or Tenampa among many others, have caught the attention of heavyweight names of the international electronic music scene like Hernan Cattaneo, Pablo Bolivar, Christian Smith, Danny Howells or Mark Slee,  just to name a few.

With his artistic understanding and approach to music, this prolific producer and DJ has carved his own signature of deep , emotive and hypnotic house and techno music.

I like to weave hypnotic rhythms with unexpected turns–sometimes playful, sometimes deep, and forever getting hooked on twists. I mix darkprog, psytech, zenonesque, and techno, but for me, it’s less about genres and more about how different sounds click together in ways you wouldn’t expect.

No maps, no warnings. Just a frequency to tune into–whether you’re on the move, lost in thought, or chasing the night.
