"The Land" by Sunglow captures the essence of Sunglow's innovative approach to music creation and live performance. Known for their unique method of performing new, mostly improvised material live before refining and recording it in the studio, Sunglow's latest album is a testament to this dynamic process. THE LAND, formed amidst an unexpected break in a busy performance schedule, showcases Sunglow’s signature style—endearing and introspective electronic music infused with a touch of nostalgia and playfulness.

Completed in a whirlwind month, "The Land" features eight tracks meticulously shaped from raw, live performances to polished studio recordings. The lyrics, inspired by spontaneous thoughts during the time of recording, convey a raw, emotional honesty. Remarkably, the album's structure emerged organically, with each song's duration unintentionally manicured, culminating in a 30-minute runtime split into two 15-minute, 4 song halves. "The Land" stands as a pure and spontaneous expression of Sunglow's creative spirit, embodying their ability to turn unexpected moments into compelling musical journeys.

This is what you get with Reason and a Spotify account littered with kid songs.

There's a ton of sounds I have in my head that I don't know what do do with them. They have something remarkable about them, but if I slap them into a song they die because of the new, alien context. Luckily I happened to watch a Reason tutorial on grain synthesis and had this aha moment of using it to extract the harmonic soul out of them.

This track was finished on January 24, 2024. Mastered in March 2025.
