So it's December! This month marks 24 months of my 100% WAX Mix series so I've done a special end of year mix for both the original series and the new Dnb focused 4TheHeadz Sub-series.
In this one, I've basically tried to pull out as many top shelf Shellers and cram them into an hour with as many stinky double drops as possible. I think most people who know their Dnb will agree the tracklist should come with a health warning 😂

Hello! Welcome! Thank you for joining us! 
I am Suboptimal.
I am an NYC-based DJ. 
I generally play Bass music in the 120-190bpm range.

I love all music but DnB more than anything else. I find inspiration in the amazing sound designs created by others. 

None of the music I play is made by me however, I 1000% fully support all the creators. If there’s a song in the mix that you like, you should definitely check out the artist. You can find full tracklists and links to the artists or songs in the description of my mixes.

I make these mixes for fun. It’s music I enjoy and I hope you will too. I'm very much still learning my craft, and wish to share my learning experience with you all. I will try to post new mixes as often as I can while I hone my abilities.

Born and bred Londoner Tom Frankel is emerging as one of the nu breed of extra talented dance producers breaking out onto the scene. 

Over the last few years he has honed his trade by playing at legendary clubs such as The Egg, where he is a regular feature, plus many gigs at huge London clubs such as Studio 338, The Cause, Lightbox, Fabric in the UK. While also doing many seasons in Ibiza playing at Sankeys, Privilege, Viva, Zoo project, Hypercolour, and underground haven Plan Be.


Tom has played alongside industry greats such as Bushwacka!, Steve Lawler, Subb-An, Dubfire, Nina Kraviz, Julian Perez, Darius Syrossian, Bicep and Move D, but it is now that Tom himself is starting to take the limelight. 

His productions are fresh, forward thinking, and always with the dance floor in mind, creating his own unique fusion of House music where he has releases and remixes on labels such as Burnski's label Constant Sound and iO (Mulen) imprint OLDiViBES and more recently with his and Dayne Harper own imprint Council Work receiving a lot of attention, with support from Ben UFO, Call Super and Loco Dice amongst others, plus no1 chart positions on Beatport and Deejay.de for the first two releases. 

Tom has earned the admiration of his peers and rightly so, he’s a chap with a lively, transfixing personality and his sets are spirited and distinct, marrying a rich medley of current house, garage and minimal music with sounds from a bygone era. His rapid climb to success is attributable to his hard work and endearing character, which combined with his expert musical knowledge make him a serious one to watch in the future.
