Less talk more Rock ist nach über 10 Jahren als klassische Radiosendung - Musik spezial auf Radio F.R.E.I. plötzlich etwas ganz Anderes. Ein Experiment, eine Live JamSession ein Work in Progress Musikerlebnis. Ich bin kein Musiker in dem Sinne, aber an Knöpfen, Tasten und Saiten drehen macht einfach spaß und den will ich teilen. In knapp 60 Minuten entsteht in jeder Ausgabe ein Song oder ein Klangteppich aus Loops, Samples und live eingespielten Instrumenten. 

Prinzipiell ist die Idee offen für befreundete Musiker, oder sogar Publikum, je nachdem wie es sich entwickelt. Stellenweise sicher ein befremdlicher Hörgenuss - krumm und atonal, aber beim Scheitern dabei zu sein, kann auch etwas interessantes haben…. denn parallel zur Radiosendung nehme ich den Computerbildschirm und mich mit einer Kamera auf. Less talk more Rock - schräg und schief passt irgendwie zusammen.

Monotribe + Pocketpiano used for most of the sounds (all drum sounds are made by the monotribe except rides&crashes), but I also used iVoxel for the "vocals" and Animoog makes a little appearance.

Born Dusty Landers in February of 1988 to a southern baptist family, hip hop was the furthest-from-expected beat for Standard to march to. Growing up on an abundance of country and gospel music, one would think that the little white boy from Easley, SC with the strong southern twang would grow up to be Johnny Do-Good; deer hunting, farming, wranglers, camo jackets, and honkey tonks. But fate had a different plan for young Dusty. At age 5, he was given his first taste of hip hop, with sprinkles of grunge and southern rock, and fell deep in love. 
By age 7 he began writing little verses and spitting them for friends and classmates on the schoolbus ride home. After having an entire bus full of peers asking him to rap everyday, little Dusty began to consider recording, but the dream was short lived. After his parents found a song on their computer with some rather suggestive lyrics pertaining to felattio, young Dusty was forbidden to listen to any music not uplifting to the Lord. But in true fan style, he managed to hold on to a couple cds along with some mix cds friends slipped to him, listening to them at night with the volume turned low. He was able to listen to rap again after some time, but was once again cut off by middle school; a vast combination religious parents, friends who flamboyentlly discouraged any type of hip hop, and disappointment by absence of real rap from listening to the radio, Steezy was back to square one, forced to hide his passion from everyone and front as if he hated it.
It wasn't until a party on a chilly Easley, SC night that his gift was brought to the light. Amongst the beer pong, dancing, and debauchery, he was drawn to a small circle of people witnessing a freestyle battle taking place. After some encouragement and a pep talk from an old friend and schoolbus fan, Dusty stepped into the circle to partake in the action. After the dust settled from the battle, he was joined outside for a cigarette by Dominic Paul (Big Boy), his future friend and rap partner. Dom proceeded to tell Dusty that he was truly blessed with a gift and it was not something he should ignore. But still he was targeted by hate and nay-sayers, remaining to freestyle to himself in the car or when battle opportunities presented themselves.
As fate would have it, Dusty met an aspiring producer named Dwayne McKoy (DC the Ryder) during a brief stay in Sarasota, FL. After spitting a couple verses for him, Ryder immediately offered him a mixtape opportunity, with beats and promotion free of charge. Taking his qeue, Dusty began to finally get serious about writing, producing a handful of songs that lead to him meeting Stevie and Tryllion of Greenlyne Music. 
Back in Easley, he has now 2 of the best talents in the upstate, Young One and Big Dom, at his side and together have formed ETC Entertainment. 
"ETC stands for Easley Top Comittee, because that's what we are. I personally feel that we are the top dudes in the upstate, bar none. No use in having 20-something guys representing your label if they're just mediocre, cookie cutter rappers talking about what everyone else is talking about, flodging, weaving tall-tales of ballin and such. What we spit is real, word for word, story for story. We go by the Yo Gotti philosophy, 'If you didn't do that, you shouldn't talk about it.'" 
ETC has a whole slew of projects in the works. Standard recently released his new mixtape "Moonshine & Marlboros: The Rebrux" and has been doing shows over the past year.
The kettle's beginning to steam, and theres no slowing down at this point. Currently working on his debut street album, "The Transplant," which looks to release late summer 2013. "I think with this project, people will actually become fans. I've put a lot of thought and work into this project, and i'm very confident it's going to catch some attention, it never really strays away from shock value. 'Moonshine & Marlboros' will make you a believer. 'The Transplant' will make you a fan."
