believe it or not, but a very hopeful and healing song to write. the past few weeks i've been in hibernation - going through some kind of transformation. healing isn't linear, and i've wondered numerous times how to speed it up or how to activitate it. and then, it just happens, in ways i didn't even recognize it. but i think i made a few big steps forward again. forward thinking is the way - all that i intend to do! mourn what is dead, sure, but most importantly: celebrate life and make it how you want it to be. onward i go.

being a certain way for years, and being with a certain person for years, leaves marks - and i am figuring out what are those marks, and what is really me. i sing about who i was before it all, but i do believe we never return to an older version of ourselves, but just keep evolving. but it makes you wonder - how much did this relationship shape me, and what parts do i want to keep?

Joe started this one with a piano instrumental he wrote initially some time ago and unearthed and revised on October 25, 2025. He described it like this:

“So I ran across a piano piece that needed fleshing out — I think it might be something. It’s called Hearth, or maybe Fall Ends. I’m deep in the autumn frame of mind, and it suggested a fire slowly dying with the frost creeping in. I had to use a different piano sound in the middle — not sure what I used originally.”

That set the tone. The piece immediately felt like late autumn — quiet, reflective, a little bit haunted by the chill of change.

When I took the inspiration for the lyric, I started from the word Hearth, but my mind wandered to Hearth and Home. The title felt familiar, almost comforting, yet the minor inflection in Joe’s music turned it away from any notion of simple warmth or nostalgia. It became something more complicated — a song about how we try to understand each other but rarely succeed.

The past week’s conversations with people crept into it too. It feels like everyone just wants to be understood and appreciated, but we’re all a little trapped inside our own heads. Words are blunt tools for delicate things. They don’t do us justice. So much gets lost in translation — and yet, we keep trying.

Hearth and Home sits in that fragile emotional space between intimacy and isolation — the quiet ache of realizing that even when we share our thoughts, we remain mysteries to one another. It’s a song about communication and disconnection, about the warmth we reach for and the chill that inevitably returns.

Hearth and Home

What if the very thing that makes us human—our ability to speak—is also our greatest vulnerability? This week, the teacher in Ecclesiastes 5:1-7 challenges us to reconsider the power and danger of our words. We discover that humans are essentially 'living language,' created in the image of a God who spoke the universe into existence. Yet this divine gift has become corrupted; our words can build up or tear down, heal or wound, unite or divide. The teacher in Ecclesiastes offers us a radical prescription: simplicity. Say less, listen more, and let God be God. We're confronted with the uncomfortable truth that much of our prayer life and religious speech is actually about us—our performance, our image, our control. The passage exposes how we heap up empty phrases, thinking God will be impressed by our verbal gymnastics, when in reality He longs for humble, honest, simple connection. Jesus himself modeled this perfectly, knowing when to speak and when to remain silent, entrusting everything to the Father. The most profound insight? Silence is God's first language. When we create space to listen rather than constantly filling the air with our anxious words, we encounter the gentle whisper of divine presence. This isn't about praying less overall—it's about praying with integrity, where our words align with our hearts and actions. The transformation begins when we stop trying to be our own god and instead rest in the identity Christ has secured for us.

I wrote bleached in the middle of a long identity unraveling. It’s about the impulse to start over, to burn down who you were, change your hair, change your name, and hope the mirror finally recognizes you back. It’s about body dysmorphia, but also about the deeper ache underneath: the belief that transformation has to come through destruction.

In the world of ROADRUNNER, bleached is the false rebirth, the moments before acceptance, when you’re still trying to scrub the stain instead of understanding what it’s made of. It’s a song about chasing purity and finding ghosts instead.

I wanted it to sound like standing under fluorescent light at 2am, buzzed on reinvention and self-disgust, realizing you can’t bleach your way clean.

I create music in contrasts, and it feels completely natural to me. I love energetic deep house and trance, experimenting with rhythms, effects, and soaring synths, crafting tracks that awaken, captivate, and pull the listener into motion. In these pieces, I release energy built up inside, emotions that cannot be contained, and impulses I long to share. This is music of movement, rhythm, and drive — it invites you to dance, feel, and experience the moment fully.

At the same time, I cherish quiet, atmospheric music — light jazz, lounge, and soft melodies for cafés and restaurants. In these tracks, I find space for solitude, reflection, and inner emotion. Every note, chord, and subtle percussion creates a moment to pause, breathe, and sense what words cannot express. In these gentle melodies, I gather energy to later release it fully in dynamic, danceable compositions.

My music lives in transitions — from intensity to calm, from motion to stillness, from the outer world to the inner. I love when one album can feel energetic and contemplative, when one track awakens and another embraces. Every sound I create is part of a dialogue with the world and with myself. I don’t just make music; I create states, emotions, and atmospheres that linger long after the last note fades.

For me, music is where light meets shadow, motion blends with calm, and joy coexists with melancholy. I want listeners to feel unknown emotions, gather energy for movement, and find space to pause and sense themselves. Music is not words; it is the language of the soul, a way to express the inexpressible.
