A propos de l'accrochage en boite arts graphiques (jusqu'au 3 mars 2025) :

Fondé à Dakar (Sénégal) en 1936, en contexte colonial, l’Institut Français d’Afrique Noire (IFAN) dirigé par Théodore Monod est un service du Gouvernement général de l’Afrique Occidentale Française (AOF). Rattaché à l’université de Dakar en 1959, il devient en 1966 Institut Fondamental d’Afrique Noire. Cet institut de recherche en sciences humaines et sciences naturelles mène une ambitieuse politique photographique à partir d’une photothèque créée en 1942. Cette dernière fournit instructions et soutien matériel aux chercheurs en leur procurant des négatifs et en tirant les photographies à leur retour de terrain.

The arts of Africa, Oceania, Asia, and the Americas now form part of the historical and artistic grand tour of the capital. The Musée du quai Branly is an innovative cultural institution - museum, educational and research centre, and public living space all in one. Built on one of the last available sites in the heart of Paris, the architectural design of this original project is the work of Jean Nouvel.
