In The Loop Leadership Podcast Ep.4 - Dr Maggie Helliwell

In this episode, we're joined by IHSCM Member, Jeredyne Stanley.  As a black woman in leadership, 'Jeredyne has at times felt isolated, unsupported, and experienced bullying and barriers. Jeredyne uses her social media platforms to showcase what' good' leadership looks like and helps to empower other women through her networks with groups such as the IHSCM's Women in Leadership special interest group. Jeredyne helps other women to build resilience and to help create opportunities for others to become the leaders we need. This is also reflected in Jeredyne's charity work with Rivers Enterprise.
Jeredyne imparts several messages throughout this episode. Her key message is that if you feel you've achieved everything that you can do in your space, don't reinvent the wheel, look at how to create change through innovation and people. Build on what has already been accomplished, and takeaway experiences.
Lastly, remember to focus on daily and weekly well-being practices, switch off, pause, reflect and reset, reguarly. Demonstrate self-care. Good leaders are good role models.

-	Don’t waste opportunities that can equip you with new skills, knowledge and network.
-	Remember to relax and start again if you feel you have achieved everything you want in your space. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Create change through innovation.
-	You can do it and we can do it together. How do you do what you do not know? Look to those who have gone before you and what they have achieved, what can you do or we do together to build on that?
-	There is support in the form of knowledge, skills and behaviours in everyone you come in contact with. Take away from those experiences what to do and what not to do. We learn every single day.
-	Listen. Actively listen with the purpose of understanding and using the context to help you, them, and other people.
-	Remember to switch off – devices, and thoughts, and focus on daily and weekly wellbeing practices. Demonstrate self-care. As a leader, this is good role modelling.
