 It was recorded 8/13/24  near  the battle site of  Heathcote Hill in Mamaroneck, NY.

Em Maio de 2024, Bernardo Pacheco fez seu primeiro set solo ao vivo improvisando na guitarra. Foi também a última vez que tocou no Tipitina, bar de São Paulo que fechava as portas. O evento aconteceu no dia 8 de Maio, data na qual foi divulgada a morte de Steve Albini. Assim surgiu a faixa "O Problema Com a Música", que entrou na coletânea de quinze anos do nosso blog, o Hominis Canidae, lançada no dia 30 de Junho deste ano. Parceiro de anos de improvisação, Berna sugeriu a Abdala destrinchar essa gravação dele dentro dessa idéia de colocar uma lente de aumento nos pequenos riffs e células que brotaram ao longo da peça.
Assim surgiu o álbum "Corte & Costura", um encontro do Alphayatch, projeto do produtor goiano Bruno Abdala, com o set criado pelo músico e produtor paulista Bernardo Pacheco. As “costuras” são as duas faixas que surgiram após intervenção de samples vindos de diversas fontes feitas pelo Alphayatch no som do Berna. Já os “cortes”, são as mini-faixas dentro de cada um dos sets criados pelo Abdala. “Enxergo as duas faixas maiores como reboot uma da outra, partindo de lugares semelhantes e fazendo caminhos completamente diversos. Espero que quem escolha escutar esse disco se divirta tanto quanto eu ao me deparar com o que o Abdala construiu”, comenta Bernardo.



In May 2024, Bernardo Pacheco performed his first solo live set, improvising on the guitar. It was also the last time he played at Tipitina, a bar in São Paulo that was closing its doors. The event took place on May 8, the same day Steve Albini’s death was announced. This led to the creation of the track "The Problem with Music," which was included in the 15th-anniversary compilation of our blog, Hominis Canidae, released on June 30 of this year. A long-time improvisation partner, Berna suggested that Abdala dissect this recording as part of the idea of zooming in on the small riffs and motifs that emerged throughout the piece.

This led to the album Corte & Costura (Cut & Sew), a collaboration between Alphayatch, a project by producer Bruno Abdala from Goiás, and the set created by São Paulo musician and producer Bernardo Pacheco. The "sewing" refers to the two tracks created after Alphayatch’s intervention, sampling from various sources and weaving them into Berna’s sound. The "cuts" are the mini-tracks within each set created by Abdala. “I see the two longer tracks as reboots of each other, starting from similar places and taking completely different paths. I hope anyone who listens to this album has as much fun as I did when encountering what Abdala built,” says Bernardo.

The first in what may be a series of pieces that encompass soundscapes of London. This piece was not planned as such. I created the piano track and then married it with the London Underground sounds. It has something of the melancholy of late night Tube rides, waiting for the last train, just a few souls on board.

Joel the Mole is a NY based composer , film-maker, and artist. He makes music for his own selfish delights, but hopes you enjoy it too.
Joel is compelled to make music of frequent change, so if you like a steady groove, you may not be so happy here. He collaborates nicely, usually with friends like the amazing Carlos Vivanco (Like Wow, Decibel, Andromeda Crash),
mega-bassist Keith Macksoud (Present),
David Bond Engelhard on benevolent battery, 
double bassist John Convertino, and sometimes with fellow Westchester Conservatory alumnus Matt Lamborn on guitars. 
Joel plays guitars, piano, keyboards, the "arachnid bass", and other toys. The music is often radicalized during his editing process.
Some of the scores are 'performed' by software.

I've come to the piano relatively late in life. I'm teaching myself and, as yet, am far from professional level. However, I can't help making stuff up - maybe call it composing - and so am putting my "compositions" on here in the hope that, in spite of their limitations and flaws, some of the pleasure I get from them manages to communicate to you the listener. Initially, most of what I put on SoundCloud was exploring possible music for moving image contexts. Increasingly, I am considering music simply for its own sake. I am also collaborating with artist, Simon Morley who lives near the DMZ between north and South Korea, hence our band name: DMZ, https://soundcloud.com/utopiapress Simon does electronics and I contribute piano.

For some 40 years I have created exhibitions encompassing drawing, installation, photography, performance, video, film and book publishing. I have exhibited widely in Ireland, UK, Europe, Canada, USA and India. Major exhibitions of his work have taken place at the Arnolfini Gallery, Bristol (1997), Chisenhale Gallery, London (1998) and in Belfast (1996, 2005). I have received awards, residencies and commissions from the Canada Council, British Council, British Film Institute, Arts Council England and the Royal Festival Hall, London. In 2007 I published, No-one’s Not From Everywhere, a two hundred page text and image book, funded by Arts Council England. In 2012 the John Hansard Gallery published, Which is The: 49 Views.
